She's obviously a fab baker, having won star baker twice but I really really hope next week is her last as all of the pouting is driving me potty.
DP thinks it's because she's trying to hide wrinkles around her mouth, which is insane if it's true.
All the ridiculous gurning is giving me The Rage.

Also, thanks to the Mnetter last week who mentioned Paul using "Mary" in every sentence.

Let's face it, to be on Bake Off requires a certain level of confidence in one's ability and competitiveness. I think YABU to confuse these qualities with smugness.

I think it's her lipstick that makes her look pouty and duck-faced? I can't quite figure out how it's done - when I put lipstick on it doesn't look anything like that...Is it the strong colours she uses?

I wasn't sure about her in week one, but she has a talent and it is a show about that. I am so pleased she changes her lippy each week, as I don't think I could have coped if she wore the colour from episode 1 throughout!

Im sorry to say dh & I cheered when Vals name was said. But then felt a bit bad when she was doing her talky bit. She just annoyed me so much! Every bake she would tell the story of how she bakes it every week, and how this is the way to do it, and every time it just didn't work. I bet her family really don't like soft Danish pastries; they are just scared of telling her. She is a retired headteacher after all

I feel like the pouting is because she is a bit self conscious in front of the camera, I really don't get the outpouring of hate for her especially on the bake off facebook page comments. Hope she makes it to the finals - at the moment she and Jane are streets ahead of the others. The young chap with the orange hair is always pulling odd facial expressions too - why does he not inspire the same vitriol?

I am commenting on her actions; the pouting, the gurning, the face pulling. These are actions, not appearance. I'm not judging her based on the shape of her nose, I'm commenting on the action she is making with her mouth which I believe is deliberate.

I love her and I HATED HATED HATED HATED ruby tandoh, who was another one where any criticism was "sexist".

Basically I do think sometimes people are harsher on women but that doesn't mean that no woman is irritating. Candice seems really amazing to me and I adore her. But I didn't like the swallows woman who seemed to be almost tooth achingly middle class.

Tbf all Mel and Sue seem capable of these days is double entendres and they are supposed to be presenters! It is like watching a Carry On film and equally unfunny so Candice is just following their lead.

the red-head annoys me.. he's a gurner, and whats going on with that accent? Sometimes its posh, sometimes its irish and sometimes i can't place it at all.. he switches mid sentence sometimes!
