to want Candice to leave GBBO next week simply because of all the gurning?

I'd clearly make a crap judge.
She's obviously a fab baker, having won star baker twice but I really really hope next week is her last as all of the pouting is driving me potty.
DP thinks it's because she's trying to hide wrinkles around her mouth, which is insane if it's true.
All the ridiculous gurning is giving me The Rage.

Also, thanks to the Mnetter last week who mentioned Paul using "Mary" in every sentence.
Now that's all I hear.

I'm sure she's lovely btw Blush but I do wish shed keep her mouth still!

i watched the latest one tonight, and funnily enough Cand-iss-ace-whatever (sorry) wasnt half as annoying as before,

and her food looked great, and she deserved star baker (as far as i could tell0

Unfortunately I've started to fancy Paul. He's all stern and firm this season and I'm embarrassed but I definitely definitely would.

Also, FOR SHAME on you comparing Candice to Ruby. Ruby was UNBEARABLE. Irritating personality-less baby who cried her dull way out of everything then spent the next year or so whining to the guardian about what a special snowflake she was. She was all mouth on twitter but wouldn't say boo to a goose in front of camera. Loathed her.

Candice is a grown woman having a bit of a flirt. I think it's hilarious.

Candice irritates me s bit with her silly lipsticks, but she drives my husband potty! He can't stand the pouting / crying/ sad faces he screams at the TV "send her home!!!" Grin

YANBU, the gurning is quite nauseating.

She keeps sticking her tongue out, rolling it around with her mouth open, stupid yawning stretching faces, it's very irritating.

I really like her as a person, she seems very sweet and genuine. But the pouting gets to me, I'm sure it's a nervous thing and she'll cringe when she watches it back. It drives dh up the wall as it reminds him of his ex, so I want her to stay just to watch his horror.

I agree OP, she is really irritating and looks ridiculous. So pleased Val went last night and agree it should be Tom' next week. I also couldn't stand Ruby and she was labelled pathetic, fake, attention-seeking and manipulative because she was exactly that. I Iike Jane, Benjamina and Andrew.

To the worthies on here having the vapors because we are commenting negatively about females on tv - who cares.

I want to know what these dodgy things are that someone unthread has heard about PH. I'm worried I've started to fancy him too! Although I think that picture of him in leathers just cured me.

^The only dodgy thing he has done was to cheat on his wife with Marcella Valladolid when presenting the American bake off. He said it was a stupid mistake, his wife Alex took him back. Their son is now 14.
Any other accusations of alleged sleaze or arrogance is unsubstantiated, although if those who have met him care to describe any divadom or unwanted flirting knock yourselves out Wink

I expected to find her annoying, because I wasn't very keen on her lipstick in the promos, but actually I find her very likeable. It must be very nerve wracking in the tent.

My favourites at the moment are Tom (even though he reminds me of Ramsey Bolton from GoT), Salesi (he's so laid back), and Benjimina.

I'm not so keen on Rav's cooking. I think he might be out soon.

Those biscuit constructions always do look awful. I wish they wouldn't do them, they have very little to do with baking. But the pub still looked better than anything anyone else produced.

Oh I like Candice enough to excuse the gurning. I don't care if she has exaggerated everything (the lipstick, the pub-girl bants) to create a persona in the hopes of a media career, if so then good luck to her- all shows like that are a bit contrived so if she can play the game well enough to work the camera professionally in future and make good money out of it then good for her.

If anyone has gimlet eyed will to win it's Tom.

I preferred Andrew's ginger punting bridge personally, looked more professional and cleaner.
He looks very clean himself actually, barely breaks a sweat. I keep saying this "Oh he looks very clean" in a wholesome freshly washed way and DD keeps taking the piss royally "Ooh you look clean" not being the best compliment apparently.

The trouble with this year's bake off is that there's been a core 5 or 6 who are were obviously not going to win from the start and that's made the first 5 or 6 episodes just a case of ploughing through them to go.

Next to go should be Tom as he only survived because Val was so crap last time and he seems to mess up every week.

In fact this year's bake off seems to have been all about who was least crap every week sadly. Rather than who was the best of the best.

Don't like Candice for all of the reasons given already. I don't think They'll 'let' her win anyway.

Glad Val's gone. Really annoying. The loveable dithering granny act didn't wash with me. Her face whenever she was criticised - scary! I can well believe she was a former HM.
