To think too many people have Costa or Starbucks as an accessory

A rather stylish women I work with seems to have a costa cup superglued. I never see her drink from it although coffee is present inside. I just don't get why some people always seem to have a coffee cup is it a snobbery thing?

..I should have gone into law, lucky fuckers. Ha ha Grin

Bloody barristers thinking they're above the law and not paying for coffee.

PNGirl · 18/09/2016 20:04

I have a rose gold metal hammered tumbler from Starbucks. It was about 20 quid 3 years ago, keeps coffee warm for around 4 hours and has never leaked my proper coffee on the way to work. Just not comparable to a scoop of cheap instant, sorry!

nwbmum · 18/09/2016 20:05

Costa coffee is super milky and not very coffee-y. Starbucks coffee is pretty horrible. Cafe Nero has proper coffee.
Takeaway coffee as an accessory is pretty sad in any case

Do your customers ask for their usual, usual?
To be fair, Nero do have excellent crushed beetle cake.

icebearforpresident · 18/09/2016 20:18

I forget who else commented on also having 'a usual' at greggs. I should have added in my original post, im a big girl and the LOOK i got from another woman when they asked if i wanted my usual...

To make matters worse i didnt want my usual latte,i was on the office cake run. I wanted 4 doughnuts and an empire biscuit.

Notinmybackyard · 18/09/2016 20:28

Does my daily free coffee from Waitrose count?

CodyKing · 18/09/2016 20:38

think it's just a 'aren't I so grown up' thing.

No it isn't - it's aren't I better than everyone else who's never had chance to go - or who's parents won't fork out on a waste of money drink.

No different to the right bag or right shoes -

mygorgeousmilo · 18/09/2016 20:40

Ha! Biscuit I feel like this is a biscuit kinda day

notarehearsal · 18/09/2016 20:45

TheLast, it's nothing to do with enjoying a good coffee. But why on earth is it necessary to walk around with a take away cup of the stuff

KatieScarlett · 18/09/2016 20:48

Because the last time I checked they don't deliver?
And putting it in your bag wouldn't work very well.

bbcessex · 18/09/2016 20:49

This is so funny... WHAT???? !
I work in London. Every other shop is a coffee shop. I buy one every morning when I get off the train and usually at least one more during the day. In my industry you don't boil a kettle. . If you want coffee, you buy it.

Prets is the best, by the way. I only buy Costa from the garage 😉😉😉

Caravanoflove · 18/09/2016 20:52

Costa coffee is truly rank. McDonalds does far better coffee and I admit to being a coffee snob.

hazeyjane · 18/09/2016 20:56

Now I have a whole TV series scenario, starring Usual, dishing out legal advice along with coffee and biscotti in a lovely boho coffee shop. It would be called The Barista Barrister.

KatieScarlett · 18/09/2016 21:01

I would so watch that, especially if Usual was Judge Judy-esque.

JacquesHammer · 18/09/2016 21:02

*plenty of people think it's a bit thick buying coffee from Starbucks or Costa".

What now.....? It's "thick" to buy a beverage from somewhere that sells hot beverages?! Well. Who knew? Grin

minatiae · 18/09/2016 21:02

I drink a lot of coffee. I don't have time to sit down and have a coffee multiple times during the day. So I buy a Starbucks in the morning then refill the cup with free works coffee as needed and carry that throughout the day. nothing to do with image or what I want people to think. I just like coffee.

twirlywoo69 · 18/09/2016 21:08

I purchase the Nescafé Azera Americana coffee to go cups. They look like a gimmick but coffee is my vice and i have a routine of putting it in the cup holder of the pram and enjoy it while I'm pushing my tot into town. It's like a little treat and keeps me going! X

twirlywoo69 · 18/09/2016 21:11

I second Minatae's comment below. I don't have time to sit drinking coffee in between chores so consuming it on the go is best and, well.... genius if you ask me!

notarehearsal · 18/09/2016 21:14

I rest my case. The world has gone mad. Drinks are agreeable, coffee, wine, water. Why on earth do you need to walk around drinking them? Minatiae you sound very busy and important. I apologise

LaurieMarlow · 18/09/2016 21:14

So much overthinking.

A lot of people drink coffee on the go now. Turns out paper cups are an ideal vessel for that. Thats all there is to it.

bbcessex · 18/09/2016 21:15

I really am 😨😨😨😨 that people would think drinking coffee on the go is an affectation. ..surely this is now just part of life?

Where on earth do you live? Do you still drink Mellow Birds??
