Had a vivid dream one night of a beautiful flower -filled meadow with my grandmother walking through it. At the bottom of the meadow was a river and my deceased grandfather was standing in the water, watching my grandmother. As my dear grandmother reached the riverbank, she took off her clothes and was warmly greeted by my grandfather. It was a really colourful, vivid and comforting dream.
The next morning I was awakened by loud knocking at the door, it was my boss saying that she had taken a call for me and told me that my grandmother had died in the night. I truly believe that I was supposed to see that, a way of her letting me know that she was ok and reunited with grandfather.

I used to work as a medical secretary in what had been the old nurses home in a hospital.

I had my own (tiny) office and I was often the first one on my corridor in the morning and it would always feel oppressive and gloomy. Patient notes would randomly fall off the shelves and the tap (I had a sink in the room) would turn on by itself. Footsteps up and down the corridor but nobody there. I would often think I saw faces in the window looking down at me.

The junior doctors mess was in there and one of the SHOs told me how she was sleeping on a sofa one night and woke up with her blanket being pulled off her - but nobody was there!

I do love old hospitals but moved jobs after a few months there as I couldn't stand it. The building was later demolished to make way for a brand new ward/surgery block.

Loving this thread 😲 placemarking....

KnackeredHag · 24/11/2016 23:04

Totally spooked. Possibly some of the creepiest things I have ever heard. Running back to Christmas tat to fill my head with glitter before attempting to sleep!

BoboBunnyH0p · 26/11/2016 19:52

Finally got to the end. Love a woo thread.

PandoraHadABox · 27/11/2016 21:09

You will possibly think 'mad cow' but for the past 6 weeks or so I have been hearing strange voices not part of the programme when I have been listening to the radio, car and in office, also bizarrely when I am hoovering! Cannot quite make out what they are saying but can recognise the 'tone' and the odd word, which is generally anger/frustration. Have recently had ears tested and there are no problems. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Alleycat1 · 27/11/2016 22:20

Pandora there was a really weird case many years ago where someone picked up radio stations via a tooth filling. USA if I remember correctly. Also I posted earlier about police communications coming through on my lava lamp in the 70s. Let us know if you manage to identify the source.

DiamondDoris · 28/11/2016 00:34

When my DD was just a day old I felt very strongly that she would develop diabetes type 1 one day and sure enough when she was 4 she was diagnosed with it. I also felt that my unborn DS would have autism and sure enough the signs were there from age 2. He was diagnosed at 8. That's it, I've never predicted other illnesses or conditions and wouldn't want to.

Amandahugandkisses · 28/11/2016 00:57

One night when I was about 12 I ran out of the house for no reason. It was v dark and I remember a compulsion to run out of the house. I got nearly a mile before I saw a man on the road ahead of me. Everything turned like a dream in slow motion and foggy.
He started calling me to come here to his car and I remember inwardly screaming and running away, he was calling " no no it's ok I'm not going to hurt you" but I turned and ran. Then I remember tripping on the curb and feeling a force pick me up, like a strong wind which then pushed me forward.
Then all of a sudden I was back at home. It felt like a dream but it happened. I still think of it and it makes no sense to this day.

Winterc00kie · 28/11/2016 02:18

Well I can safely say I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight xx

mumofthreesmallmen3 · 28/11/2016 07:49

I have one, 3 years ago the day before Xmas eve, we had only moved into a new house a few weeks before and hadn't decorated etc fully, I was making deserts in the kitchen for Xmas day, my partner was out and the kids asleep upstairs. As we'd only just moved in we had these thin slightly see through curtains that I was given until I decorated the kitchen. All of a sudden I felt really uneasy and like I was being watched, just a really strong feeling of it. I actually went into the other room for w while and stopped baking. Went out the next morning and there was a red bull can upright outside my gate which is outside kitchen window. My partner swears blind it wasn't him on way back in, and wouldn't of blown up and stood upright. A few days after Xmas we had police knock and a neighbour had been burgled that same night so I think the burglar must have been watching me and I felt it so strongly, don't know why he left me his red bull can though lol x

Not really a woo but years ago I was on holiday with some friends and I had this sudden realisation that when I got home I would split up with my boyfriend of one year. It hit me like a truck. As I lay by the pool digesting this the face of an old friend popped into my head, a guy I hadn't seen/spoken to in a couple years. I returned home the next day and sure enough my boyfriend called and we broke up.
I popped out to the shops to restock the fridge (and buy some wine/chocs) to cheer me up, when who should I run in to but this old friend who was looking very good. He told me he was heading off on a round the world trip the next day & had just popped out to get some last minute bits. Despite my breakup there was a spark! We stayed in touch whilst he was away and when he came back after his year away we had a summer of fun ;)
So not woo at all but just shows how funny life can be!!

Sunnysky2016 · 28/11/2016 09:49

Here's my few- When I moved into my previous home, during the first week I woke up (and I am adiment I was awake) and there on the window sill sat a young girl, with long blonde hair, wearing an old fashioned nightgown with frills around her neck. I was that scared I couldn't even nudge my other half. After staring for a little while I closed my eyes and refused to open them again and obviously fell back to sleep.

Over the next few days my son who had just turned 2 that week kept asking about the 'thing'-what was it, why was it there etc. So the one night, my dp grabbed a cushion and was pretending to 'bash' it away, asking 'has it gone yet?', when my ds breathed a big sigh, and said its gone through the door now, it's ok.

A few days later me and ds where in my bedroom and I asked him to go to his room to fetch a pull up nappy, he went out onto the landing and screamed the most high pitch scream. He was stood there terrified, shaking, crying so I asked what it was and he replied 'it's on the stairs'. So I ask is it a man, a women a boy or girl? And he replied 'no mummy it's like condensation'- bearing in mind he had just turned 2!!

Then ds2 used to go out with my mil each week and would talk about the lady that was in the car with nanny. I never thought anything of it, assuming she had been giving someone a lift. One day I mentioned it, and she said she had never had anyone else in the car......

I was very close to my grandmother as she practically brought me up. When she was in hospital, we knew she didn't have long left. Me and my dp went food shopping and half way around I had this sudden urge to go home. So abandoned the shop and when I got it there was a message from the hospital. Yep, nan had passed away, around the exact time, I felt the need to leave.

Then about 2 years ago I was sat watching TV, and from nowhere I could smell my nans perfume, it lasted about 45 minutes. I had no air fresheners etc about.
But I felt only calm, I wasn't scared at all. Then last year me and my dm was talking, and I mentioned the perfume- turns out she has also had numerous times she has smelt it in the upstairs of her home- she now lives in nans old house....

I was walking down the street once when I saw a man walking out of a shop on the opposite side of the street. I thought 'He's my husband'. I went home and said to my flatmate 'I saw the man who will be my husband'.

About 6 months later we met fr the first time. We went on our first date the next day and I never went home. Been together 13 years now. :) Oddly enough, my mother had exactly the same reaction when she first saw my dad - also walking down the street.

A few days beforemy DS was born I was dropping off to sleep and I had a sudden vision of him aged about 3 years old looking at me and smiling. He had loads of dark black hair. The midwife said to me in labour when she was checking how things were ;Oh, I feel lots of hair'. I just said 'Yes I know'.

The vision of him I had is exactly how he looks also. I really think I saw him.

UterusUterusGhali · 28/11/2016 09:57

Sorta placemarking, but something weird happened to me the other day that I was going to start a thread on.

I should add I'm not remotely woo, and this can probably be explained away. Anyhoo,

I was with my sister. We don't see each other that often, maybe 5 times a year or less
My sister is 33 and I am a few years older. We both look young for our ages, particularly her.
Anyway, she was looking at her phone and I said something. As she slowly raised her head, she had aged about 40 years. There was an old lady looking at me, but still recognisably her. I slowed my speech, utterly gobsmacked at what I was seeing. Her face slowly unwrinkled and became young again.
I was so discombobulated I lost my train of thought and just tailed off.
I thought to myself "maybe I just see her as a young gal because she's my little sister, and people you love don't age. Maybe this is how the world sees her. Like when you catch a glimpse of yourself in a shop window and think who's that old codger". But she didn't look middle aged. She looked old and her face had plumped and sagged. No way does she look 70 to the outside world. 30 something's don't look 70.

I didn't mention it to her, as I was too freaked out, and she'd have got a complex. Grin

clarr · 28/11/2016 10:01

pandora lots of people hear voices - a really common one is hearing a radio on when there isn't one, or distant not quite clear voices. I wouldn't worry too much but it is probably worth a trip to the GP just to make sure you're fit and well.

InsultingTheAlligator · 28/11/2016 10:12

Oh, I have just thought of another.

A few years back I was helping out a friend of mine prepare for the church nativity. There was a small team of us, including the vicar and the church wardens. It was a lovely old church. We were inside getting ready, when the vicar came out of a small room at the back where spare chairs, boxes etc were kept. His face was very fixed and frozen. He said in an undertone to one of the churchwardens to go to the room where he had been. The church warden came back also with a funny look. The vicar said to him; 'Did you see it?'. The churchwarden nodded and said 'It was a man though, I thought we only had Mrs [something] here as a ghost'. Nobody really said anything and we carried on, but when I asked my friend about it later she just said that yes the church was haunted and most of them had stories of some sort.

UterusUterusGhali · 28/11/2016 11:11

oneoneoneome your post made me cry! :)

UterusUterusGhali · 28/11/2016 11:31

Ooh. Another. This happened to my dad though. Might have told this.

My parents lived for a while in a croft on Shetland. They were very, very isolated. Nearest house was across the voe. Miles and miles to the nearest bus stop.

One winter they were snowed in. They were in the midst of a fierce blizzard, when DF looked out and saw four children playing in the snow. Throwing snowballs etc. He didn't know them, had never seen them etc. couldn't work out where they'd come from. I can't remember if he'd said he'd called out to them; I think so as you'd be pretty alarmed if four unaccompanied kids turned up in your garden in the middle of nowhere. But either way they vanished.

Dad had never mentioned it, until one day, when me, dsis & dstep bros came in from playing in the snow. Dad was practically jumping up and down saying "I saw you! That's what I saw!" And described the experience on Shetland 20 years previously. He was pretty shaken, and he's not the woo type at all.

InsultingTheAlligator · 28/11/2016 11:33

Love that story Uterus. :)

rustyunicorn · 28/11/2016 11:50

My sister used to work in a charity shop. One day a lady came up to the till to purchase something. She looked at my sister and said 'l don't want to spook you but I am able to see things that others can't. You can't see her, but you have a short, blonde lady standing beside you. She is constantly talking to you but you can't hear her!! It's weird because she is calling you by a very strange name?!'

My sister said she had goose bumps all over by now. Sister said to the lady by what name is she calling me and the lady said 'BO?'. Well our Nan had passed a short while beforehand (she was 5 foot and blonde) and within our family my sister is called 'Boo!' no-one outside the family calls her this and very few people know that!!

How the hell did this woman know this? Although it did give us some comfort to know maybe Nan is out there somewhere?!

LilQueenie · 28/11/2016 12:05

Where do you want me to start I have a lot.

Laying in bed as a teen one night I was unusually relaxed and drifting off. There was a weird electronic white noise sort of sound like a buzzing in your ears type thing. Then I hear a voice say get up. strangely I wasn't scared. It happened again and they I heard 'GET UP NOW' so I did and stood at the foot of my bed. I said ok 'where do I go' I had a feeling I was to move away from where I had been laying but how far I didn't know. After a minute I walked towards the door to go downstairs and then the curtain pole crashed down - and landed exactly where my head had been in bed.

littleostrich · 28/11/2016 12:19

A few years ago I was in my friend's car. It was about 2am and we were driving through some unlit country lanes. Ahead of us on the side of the road was a house. There were no lights on and nothing to suggest the residents were up at that time of night.

Suddenly from behind the wall of the house came a child's face - I remember seeing him clearly, lit up by the headlights of the car. It was a bit like he had been playing a game; hiding behind the wall and then sticking his head out to reveal himself. He was smiling and only looked around age 6 or 7. Then he went back behind the wall.

I was horrified - it was so late and the middle of winter, he would have been freezing. I said "oh my God!" and told my friend to stop the car... but in those couple of seconds, we had passed the wall he was hiding behind. And there was nobody there. Confused

LilQueenie · 28/11/2016 12:39

I had a pack of angel cards. basically tarot cards. I did them and no matter how many times I shuffled the same three kept coming out. I would wait weeks or months then do them again and shuffle and I mean really shuffle them and it was always the same three. The meaning was a relationship was coming up. Note that this was no way happening for me in my mind due to severe anxiety at that point and I did not trust anyone to get close to them for a date never mind a relationship. Anyway one day my male friend asked me to do his cards. he shuffled them and turned them over. Bare in mind they were shuffled completely. Guess what three turned up? It was then I had a strong feeling he was the one I was gong to be with which was again absurd as he was engaged and there was no way. Anyway months on things went bad with his relationship and we ended up together.

I went to the cards again when trying to conceive. Again the same 3 cards came up indicating yes I would get pregnant time and again. (not the same 3 as the relationship ones but 3 relating to fertility) we were told it was most likely no chance even with ivf. At this point I trusted the cards and persevered when really I had otherwise given up. We now have DD 5yrs.
