AIBU - just saw my cleaner clean the loo with a cloth and then use it in another room on my bath!

Was talking to my cleaner as I usually change beds etc while she's here, went to talk in one bathroom and she was cleaning the loo with a bright orange cloth.
Went downstairs to make us tea, she's now in out ensuite and using the same cloth on our bath. I cannot be 100% sure as we have 2 of these cloths in the bag but I will look later to see if the other one has been used.
She comes from an agency so I can just ring the agency and cancel her.
I am a spineless twat and should probably just go up and ask her though shouldn't I? I have clearly told her to use one cloth in each bathroom as we have 4 kids and there's always some virus lurking but she thinking of it she can't do that because there's only ever 2 cloths out out to be washed.
I feel slightly ill.
Someone help me phrase it so I don't sound rude??

Yuk. Nope wouldn't be happy with that.

I was stuck in bed with high blood pressure when I was pregnant and had someone to do the cleaning. Came down one time to find her wiping her neck with the teatowel. It was hot weather but all she needed was to ask me for a hand towel as she'd put the kitchen.one in the washing machine.

dailymaillazyjournos · 15/09/2016 15:21

She was lovely and I was so glad for the help but it grossed me out thinking how . many times the dishes were wiped with sweaty tea towel

TopazBurns · 15/09/2016 15:22

'blue for the loo, pink for the sink'.. That's what I do as well fabbi I am a cleaner & I have never used the same cloth for toilet as other jobs. I use yellow in the kitchen & then as you said, blue for loo & pink for sink.

gillybeanz · 15/09/2016 15:24

It sounds like the cleaner is good company for you. i wouldn't get rid of her.
Although, you sound like you do the job better yourself and don't really need a cleaner, hence the company comment.

JenLindleyShitMom · 15/09/2016 15:25

Ewwww!

Blue for the loo
Pink for the sink
(Yellow for kitchen, green for bath -but they don't rhyme Grin)

JenLindleyShitMom · 15/09/2016 15:26

X posting Grin

nocampinghere · 15/09/2016 15:27

i'm impressed your cleaner actually cleans your loo
i have only ever had ones that squirt a bit of something around and give the seat / outer bit a wipe over. never had a cleaner actually properly clean IN the loo.

icingonthewall · 15/09/2016 15:31

yes OF COURSE to washing cloths!

At 30, along with everything else, then (if possible) out on the line to dry.
What do you think is going to happen to us??

category12 · 15/09/2016 15:33

People use cloths for the toilet?

thatsn0tmyname · 15/09/2016 15:38

Yuck. Sounds like the French and Saunders chambermaids sketch. Sadly I can't find it on YouTube.

TheLastHeatwave · 15/09/2016 15:41

There's no point in having separate cloths for things if you're going to wash them all together. If you only wash Pink Sink clothes in one wash fine, but if you mix the cloths for washing its pointless.

icingonthewall I don't spend any time thinking about what's going to happen, I don't need to. It's vile to clean a toilet then use that cloth on something else, it doesn't need to take up any more brain space than that.

WickedLazy · 15/09/2016 15:42

Grim, I do mine with toilet roll (and antic back spray), then I can just flush it after.

WickedLazy · 15/09/2016 15:43

sorry auto correct, antibacterial spray*

GoblinLittleOwl · 15/09/2016 15:43

My dear!
One simply cannot get the staff.

MLGs · 15/09/2016 15:45

Speak to her yourself. It's a bit mean tk go behind her back to the agency.

MLGs · 15/09/2016 15:47

I have - wait for it - a loo brush of doom

YelloDraw · 15/09/2016 15:49

And she has a massive bag of cloths, seriously about 10-15 in there along with lots of cleaning products etc.

We have a huge bag of cloths of all different types and sizes. Cleaner always uses shit loads of toilet paper and kitchen roll! Argh I have to hide the kitchen roll the night before she comes.

SharingMichelle · 15/09/2016 15:53

Blue for loo.
Pink for sink.

Cromwell1536 · 15/09/2016 15:54

Why use cloths at all? They have to be washed and dried properly before put away, otherwise they mildew. What's wrong with kitchen roll? I have an microfibre cloth which I use for mirrors, everything else is done with kitchen roll. No cross contamination ever.

JellyBelli · 15/09/2016 15:55

I know its unbearably twee but - Pink for the sink, blue for the loo. Theres no way I'd mix them.
Ask her to use kitchen roll on the loo and flush it.

KathArtic · 15/09/2016 15:56

The thing is, kids go to the loo and splash everywhere, wipe carelessly, put their hands on the toilet roll, then the flush, then the taps, then the towel and then the door handle.

There are germs everywhere!!

Gottagetmoving · 15/09/2016 16:00

If you don't put the lid down on the toilet when you flush, bacteria gets onto everything including the Loo roll which is usually right next to the toilet.
Apparently, the Loo roll can have more contamination than the actual toilet.

Are you sure everyone in your home puts the lid down before flushing?

KathArtic · 15/09/2016 16:00

Then your cloth goes in the washing machine - do you wash it on its own....or bung it in with the weekly wash like I do?

BaronessEllaSaturday · 15/09/2016 16:00

Do people wash cloths in the washing machine? Surely it's just cheaper overall (both in terms of money and energy use) to use them e.g. in the kitchen for a period of time, then relegate to the bathroom for one go of the whole thing (toilet last) and throw them out?

I think you'd also have to do the hottest possible wash in the washing machine and it's not certain the machine even gets as hot as it says. Do people soak them in a bucket of bleach or something? Bleach isn't really a thing here.

Not only did/do I wash cloths in the machine I also used to wash nappies in there too and no I didn't soak in bleach as it weakens the fibres.

HeteronormativeHaybales · 15/09/2016 16:01

I cut cloths in half and use half a one on the bathroom, loo last (my order is shower-bath-sink-loo), then throw it away afterwards. Floor is done with a separate cloth.
