sorry to seem slow but there are all kinds of situations where Maui is the answer and I have never seen any suggestion why!

jobrum
That was another poster, sklily.
I believe she was real, bless her.
She lives in Kensington and owned a hotel in Bahamas I think. And struggled with school runs.

backtowork2015 · 14/09/2016 22:15

Whilst we're at it am I the only person who doesn't know what a penis beaker is?

MermaidTears · 14/09/2016 22:17

Please MNHQ
Can we have a new section "under the bridge" where troll threads can go...so we can read them.
It pisses every one off when they spend all morning replying to threads....go off to do school run and come bCk and it's disappeared.
We are all adults so why can't we keep them!!!!
The mermaid has spoken!Wink

ABloodyDifficultWoman · 14/09/2016 22:21

I only know penis beaker from references on many many many threads. I didn't read the original and I don't have enough life to spare to do so now.

Anyone remember Mitmoo and the neighbour with the security light? Utter madness! Grin

Queenbean · 14/09/2016 22:27

Re penis beaker, save yourself. It's not funny AT ALL

Queenbean · 14/09/2016 22:28

Keeping threads is a terrible idea, about 2% are funny and the rest are a pain in the arse

It'll just encourage the trolls if we start immortalising some of their threads

Funko · 14/09/2016 23:23

I've just a cried laughing at the 'sharon' thread. How utterly nuts!

I bloody love this place and you lot are ace 😂

Jizz - a shopping list found in the bottom of a trolley, which included "naice ham" on the list

ShebaShimmyShake · 15/09/2016 07:21

I read that as dressing up as Princess Anne and singing at kids parties. Was a bit suprised there was a demand for that!

Halloween? 😃

I didn't realise Pippa was the Maui poster!

wizzywig · 15/09/2016 12:09

Maui and cracker woman were the same person? Cant imagine a person with visions eating multigrain crackers on her white sofa

memyselfandaye · 15/09/2016 12:16

Whattimeisit You're wrong! Hayley was"nt excited to announce they had chosen a sofa. She was excited to announce they had chosen a date to go and chose a sofa.

Grin
WhatTimeIsItCuckoo · 15/09/2016 13:02

Oh memyself, I thought she'd said something along the lines of, 'Also I can finally reveal that we've made a decision on our sofa' like we'd all been hanging by a thread just waiting for this revelation Grin. Bonkers either way Grin

ShowMeTheElf · 15/09/2016 13:46

'Tonga !' You say???

FruVikingessOla · 15/09/2016 17:21

Thank goodness you found that, ShowMe. I recall a number of forums/fora/blogs about that blasted book at the time of the original thread, when we were all madly Googling; but I couldn't find anything last night when I was searching again, so had assumed that the various individuals involved had all of their posts/blogs/whatever deleted some time ago.

TONGA TONGA TONGA Grin

Kittycatkin · 15/09/2016 18:15

My cat is called Maui.

wildflowermeadows · 15/09/2016 18:19

Have you thought about getting married there?

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 15/09/2016 18:42

Fru should be crowned the Queen of Advanced Search. NO ONE is better at finding old gems of threads!

Thanks OP and Fru (and everyone else) for this lovely trip down memory lane which passes under a bridge or two Wink

FruVikingessOla · 15/09/2016 18:48

Aw, shucks, Hearts Blush

I had a massive chortle last night when finding some of those threads - to the point that DP said to me "I suppose you're laughing at MN again?" Grin

mummyof3kids · 15/09/2016 23:32

There was a woman in West London who attended events with another woman dressed as Anna and Elsa. She was selling frozen produce and handing out business cards advertising hire for parties when I 1st saw them at a school fair. Not sure if this was same person who posted in the past, but was pretty eccentric. Or maybe this is where possible 'troll' got inspiration. These women were from another country (Eastern Europe). I once saw them in a horse pulled glass carriage, perhaps they did weddings also!

littleprincesssara · 16/09/2016 01:01

The anti-dinosaurs poster was the most amazing troll ever, although I'm not convinced she was trolling. I think she was deadly serious.

AcrossthePond55 · 16/09/2016 01:38

My favourite on the Maui thread was when IIRC some MNer made a crack about most marriages ending in divorce as being the reason her family didn't want to fork out, she posted something along the lines of "Of course my marriage will last, we're getting married in Maui for God's sake!".

MermaidTears · 16/09/2016 07:50

Love the sound of the anti dinosaur one. Is it still around? I can't find it.
