This has been done to death but even so - workmen and toilets

So two workmen arrive at 8.30am by 10.30am BOTH had been for a shit. And they'll have working here by 12pm. That's less than four hours when they could either have gone before they set off in the morning or waited until they left.

One is stinking the whole ground floor out and I just know there is going to be something left for me to clear up when the stench has died down a bit.

Why, why, why would you go to someone else's house for a crap.

And I don't believe workmen suffer unduly from loose stools compared to the rest of the population but every single bloody one that comes here feels the need to offload as soon as they walk through the door.

I feel sorry for a lot of people on this thread. Sad

Don't you think that life is too short for this kind of petty shit? (If you'll pardon the pun!)

gemmawinegum · 12/09/2016 16:40

Its not even that dirty though in the picture. Certainly no skidmark slides running down the height of the sides of the loo. I've seen worse.

Amandahugandkisses · 12/09/2016 16:41

It's gross. They could have flushed again put some bleach and opened the window.
Is it because they are men people don't think they are capable of leaving a toilet how they found it?

RebeccaWithTheGoodHair · 12/09/2016 16:42

attention-seeker? Shock

It would never have crossed my mind to ban access to a toilet for people doing work at my house. Reading this I feel like I'm in some strange parallel universe. I always thought the nice thing is to offer the Builder a cuppa, some biscuits and if you having lunch maybe make a sandwich. Restricting access to the toilet is the height of meanness.

kali110 · 12/09/2016 16:44

I have ibs. I certainly can't control when and where i have a shit Hmm
Ofcourse men can't possibly suffer.....
I have never told a trade/workman they can't use my toilet, ever.

Amandahugandkisses · 12/09/2016 16:47

If they must have a poo which is v unlikely they shouldn't leave the toilet looking or smelling disgusting!

Blueskyrain · 12/09/2016 16:47

Why is it unlikely somebody would need a poo?

No-one has refused them use of the loo.

However if you think it's acceptable to leave it in that state for your customer to clear up then I agree it is indeed a parallel universe.

Oh, dear god, here we go again! Rebecca, the only thing a good person would do is pay the tradesmen double, make cups of tea and biscuits and full on catering - meals, and of course, clean up skid marks and stinky shits. FFS.

Blueskyrain · 12/09/2016 16:53

There are two issues here

1 - is it acceptable for him to use the toilet for a poo?
2- is it acceptable for the toilet to be left in a poor standard.

Everyone agrees the toilet should be left clean, but what is batshit crazy in my opinion is your suggestion that he shouldn't be using the toilet at all.

RebeccaWithTheGoodHair · 12/09/2016 16:55

They could have flushed again put some bleach and opened the window.

exactly Amanda - that's all it would have taken to have a happy customer. I will always think it's odd to turn up at someone's house and almost immediately use their lav for a crap but that would come under the category of live and let live. This takes the biscuit, it's absolutely disgusting and really disrespectful. It makes me wonder if they just assume I'm here to clean up after any random man because I'm a female and at home so I must have loads of time on my hands.

Amandahugandkisses · 12/09/2016 16:55

How many times have you suddenly needed a poo whilst visiting a friend? And then again the next day you visit them?
Not all builders have digestive issues.
If you do need one desperately you don't leave the toilet in a stinking messy state!

gemmawinegum · 12/09/2016 16:56

Are you the notorious Poo Troll?

Blueskyrain · 12/09/2016 16:57

Who?

VeryBitchyRestingFace · 12/09/2016 16:57

If working involves going into someone elses house you don't do a shit there, you find the nearest public loo, tescos, wherever.

Shock Shock

This has to be one of the stupidest fucking things I've ever read on this site, and that's saying something.

Here, lies your problem, do you think like this maybe? It isn't all about you, you know.
They have probably not given you a thought, apart from their pay.

RebeccaWithTheGoodHair · 12/09/2016 17:04

Er no, my problem is a bog covered in someone else's shit.

DP is just home and is equally as revolted. Bleach is now down and scrubbing will commence soon after.

Really very, what even more stupid than the pp suggestion that the op herself should clean it up and even offer him a biscuit?

That would be the second stupidest thing. Wink

Blueskyrain · 12/09/2016 17:09

I bet good money that the same people that think he should have gone to Tesco's, would in reality be horrified if they heard someone pooing in a public toilet.

I just had some painters in. One of the guys literally spend more time in my toilet than painting.
I won't use them for the rest of my house now and won't recommend them.
If tradesmen do this they should know they will loose work.

It's disgusting.
