Fox wandered into my living room last night

Yelled at it so it retreated (rather slowly). Shut door between house and conservatory ... And 2 mins later saw had wandered back into conservatory, as casual as you like!

AIBU to call for best ways to deter foxes? Do not want him wandering on in!

Live in Richmond, London btw so this is a semi urban fox ....

Didn't a fox attack twins sleeping upstairs in their home a few years ago in London ?
I wouldn't be happy seeing one in my home.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 30/08/2016 22:15

We had a raccoon in our kitchen last week (not UK!)

They are quite cute & intelligent, but also disease-ridden pests who will get into your rubbish bin and strew it all over the neighbourhood while crapping everywhere.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 30/08/2016 22:15

At least they don't attack other animals though.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 30/08/2016 22:16

They are however known to carry rabies.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 30/08/2016 22:17

There are millions of people in London, millions of houses and fuck knows how many foxes.

There is this much publicised but a bit Hmm case about a fox attacking someone in their house.

I should find other things to worry about.

Poor fox just wanted you to play bingo.

Seekingadvice123 · 30/08/2016 22:31

The usual media link about a fox attacking a child but radio silence on the 1000's of hospital visits/admissions because someone has been attacked/bitten by a dog. Should they all be culled to??

News alert.... we inhabit this planet with OTHER ANIMALS. There is every chance our paths will cross.

maninawomansworld01 · 30/08/2016 22:57

We had one last year try to get in our French doors twice in a week'after they had been left ajar for the dogs.

The third night I was waiting with my .308!
Near enough cut him in half, nice quick humane death.

NonnoMum · 30/08/2016 23:04

I give my fox mange tout.

EttaJ · 30/08/2016 23:05

What an utter cunt maninaworld big gun small genitals hey.

Sparklingbrook · 30/08/2016 23:14

A cut in half fox? Did that not make a mess of the 'french doors'? Confused

OohhItsNotHoxton · 30/08/2016 23:16

Lion poo.

iminshock · 30/08/2016 23:26

How cool!

bibbitybobbityyhat · 30/08/2016 23:32

The reason why there are more hospital admissions for dog bites than fox bites is because we spend a lot more time in very close proximity to dogs. Isn't that obvious?

What makes you say that it is BS (to use your terminology) about babies being attacked by foxes EttaJ?

And for the record I think they're lovely creatures... Just don't want one trying to get into my house where 2 young children are playing.

Sparklingbrook · 30/08/2016 23:44

But you don't mind waving your gun about and cutting foxes in half while the children are playing maninawomansworld01 ? Confused

EttaJ · 30/08/2016 23:46

Yep thought so ,clearly I hit a nerve. Actually where I live there are no foxes, there are no wild animals at all other than chickens, mice and rats as it's a small island but I would feed them, yes. You're a nasty bit of work aren't you.

maninawomansworld01 · 30/08/2016 23:47

No one was waving anything about.

They were safely inside and I had pre planned my shot from the other back door so that if I missed (unlikely at that range) or the bullet over penetrated and went right through then there was a nice soft earth bank to catch it safely.

Guns are only dangerous if misused

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 30/08/2016 23:49

What a manly thing to do. Hmm

I see you're fully in control of your emotions and no doubt your guns, Man.

Or not.
