Taking my boy in the ladies toilet...

So we were in a busy sports pub full of very happy (several drunk) people after a great win. My son needed the loo so I took him to the ladies with me. I was told by a very stroppy barmaid who happened to be in there that she wanted him out.
I said I didn't feel comfortable him going to the men's, she said well he's not coming in here. I said I don't want him in the men's alone. She said 'well go in there with him then'! So u did!
He's 10. Normally I'd send him in the men's, but not in a pub full of drunk strangers. I know some may think I've very over protective, but it really wouldn't have hurt her to just let him go for a quick were!!

Practically is the key word.

You keep insisting you know better than biology.... good for you. It doens't make it true, but good for you.
you can tell a childs sex by the way they walk, IMPOSSIBLE!

I am also surprised a NT 10 year old boy would go into the women's toilets and not simply refuse to.

Quite so, precious. Ignorance seems to be bliss.

Calm down, Jason, no need to shout.

That's not what I said. I said the way they move. There is a big difference.

Jason, don't lie. There is no way you are a teacher. So obvious.

Just passing through to kindly request everyone knock off the troll-hunting. We've had a thorough check behind the scenes and are happy that the OP is completely genuine. Troll-hunting just ends up derailing the thread generally. Thank you!

@Jasonandyawegunorts

I remain unconvinced. Maybe it's the general lack of substance in your posts...
Real biology teachers usually manage to bang on about genetics and evolution even when it's not relevant.

I didn't say i was a biology teacher, i said i've taught biology, not the same thing.

Taking an NT 10 year old into the Ladies is BU but mentioning the RADAR key when the Gents was empty anyway and there were 2 adult men in your party was BVU.

I used to shout to DS to call if he needed me when he went into the Gents on his own from the age of 7, he has autism and the was the rule.

What I don't get is this,

Men are apparently a danger to women so they need female only spaces but apparently no danger to boys.

Stop comparing boys being raped to having a car accident or having an accident in the park. Yes there are risks in everyday life, a boy would probably be more likely to slip on a wet toilet floor than be raped or molested, but I know which one I'd rather happened.

Next to death being sexually abused is the worst thing that can happen to someone. It may be statistically unlikely but it is such a terrible thing if it did happen.

I evaluate and risk assess and I don't wrap my dc in cotton wool but I do also go with gut instinct about things.

I have found that people who teach Biology or anything else are usually fairly clued-up when it comes to punctuation, too.

I needed a special swmming costume for embarassing medical reason, which needed to have the waist and legs securly tied, i couldn't tie or undo knots due to coordanation problems, so needed help.

And yet most people who teach in primary school haven't got a passable gcse english grade.

Teachers teach today.
Teachers taught yesterday.

Yip. Different tenses but same verb.

So how did you actually teach Biology without teaching Biology?

Utter rubbish. You can't teach without a pass grade on Maths and English.
