Just that ! According to a certain friend a set of parents who do not drink are far superior than a pair who share a bottle of wine over dinner twice a week.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!

Oh - good one ! (wipes tears of laughter from eyes and genteely neckssips morning break gin)

Also - what is this word "share" in relation to "bottle of wine"?

Is a bottle not a portion size, then?

I live amongst vineyards and wine is very much a way of life. We are all very happy. (Hic)

Actually green with envy Envy

I finally decided to go tee total years before I got pregnant. The turning point for me was feeling too drunk to drive after trying a thimble full of wine that was offered in my local supermarket.

I was never a great drinker. It affects me differently to other people. Having a whole glass of wine would get me legless.

I also don't know any Mums who don't drink. Personally, if I'm out then I'll have 2 large glasses of wine or 4 glasses of prosecco max as I hate been out of control, drunk and having to make my way home.

If I'm at home or at a friend's nearby I'll relax on that a bit but I never go over a limit where I feel too tipsy as I hate being hungover.

I went to a wedding a couple of weeks ago where there was a glass of prosecco at the morning reception, then a drink in the afternoon, then glass of champagne with the bride, then glass of champagne at reception then dinner and drinks. I spent the day either tipsy or hungover Grin

I can't drink much anymore because I have chronic daily migraines and ibs amongst other medical conditions but it's definitely not motherhood (probably the opposit!) but cider doesn't seem to cause too much problem if I only have one and the odd white wine at the weekend if I'm feeling up to it. I loved the odd gin and tonic but even a sip makes me violently sick now so have been known to sniff them sadly when nobody is looking (joking!)

I had the odd glass of wine whilst pregnant, DS is 2m now and I have one glass of wine once a week. I'm looking forward to being able to drink a bit more once he's older. I like gin and wine ha.

I'm a mum. I drink. In fact, I'm in bed at the moment eating Pringles as I was being a hit too enthusiastic about the whole thing last night (I don't get out very often nowadays!).

The DC were with DH. Everyone was fine.

PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 27/08/2016 11:29

I don't drink unless I'm going out (rare since having DD and not liking the prospect of night feeds with a hangover). I have a condition which is worsened by alcohol but used to love having a cold beer at home

ijustwannadance · 27/08/2016 11:32

My not drinking has sod all to do with being a mum.
I am also the only teetotal person I know in rl.

Gottagetmoving · 27/08/2016 11:45

One bottle of red wine on one night per week... On rare weeks...two bottles.
I used to drink more but can't take it these days because I feel too rough the next day.
I think it's too much in one go but I am the type that once a bottle is open, it has to be finished.
