There's a car parked on my drive

Arrived home from work to find a car parked on my drive. Thought it might be one of dh's friends but no.

Our drive can fit two cars but the bastard has decided to park at the front of the drive so no chance of parking on the drive and blocking them in like I would like to.

It's making me irrationally angry and I can't stop checking to see if it's gone. Dh doesn't seem to share my annoyance.

Why would anyone decide it's ok to park on someone's drive?!

Anyone see that clip where the double yellow line parker's car was covered in post-it's?

Mreva · 25/08/2016 18:51

Morecoffee I love the idea of setting Dh up with a water pistol, unfortunately we do not own a water pistol and Dh still doesn't understand why I'm so annoyed!!

Write a large note on both sides of the paper. Fasten in front of driver with cooking fat or facecream you dont like. No damage but your message will be clear unlike windscreen tll cleaned. If they complain offer rag and water to cover your backside re damage.

I LOVE parking threads. They are my favourite threads on mn.
I don't enjoy them in real life as dh is not entirely rational when it happens to us.

gillybeanz · 25/08/2016 18:52

What kind of person parks on someone's driveway?

The kind who doesn't mind coming back to it being keyed.

OP, vandalise the car and deny all knowledge when they knock on the door, I know I would.
Report it as it could be stolen, or just dumped.

embo1 · 25/08/2016 18:52

Was it rice or breadcrumbs sprinkled over the car? Bird poo central

JenLindleyShitMom · 25/08/2016 18:52

here

Sorry it's a fail link.

And a disabled bay, not double yellows.

Could you dirty the edges and handles of the wheelie bin, so they get their hands all manky when they move it, Mreva? Plus the extra time whilst they were working out how to move it without getting their hands too filthy would give you more time to spot them, and go out and bollock them!

Cat food maybe, or lots of laundry detergent (not dirty, but difficult to wipe off so you can drive).

Or smear a bit of Vaseline on their windscreen...

MotherOfGlob · 25/08/2016 18:54

JenLindley misread your post and thought you'd said 'lean in and let one off'.

Might work....

PapaverSomniferum · 25/08/2016 18:54

It's Anthony Head. He was definitely the culprit on the last identical parking on driveway thread. Wink

SpaghettiMeatballs · 25/08/2016 18:56

We'd be the opposite in this house. I'd be mildly annoyed and Hmm but would ultimately lose interest. DH would be mounting a 24 hour guard and applying for a gun licence and looking like this > Angry

Grin

Sounds like a job for the dog!

Mreva · 25/08/2016 18:56

It is still there and Dh is still Hmm

There is some dog poo in the garden that could do with being picked up....

Fuck it, I'm just place marking

WannaBeDifferent · 25/08/2016 18:58

Oooh a lovely parking thread - have I missed anything ?

CrazyDuchess · 25/08/2016 18:58

I don't have a drive but these threads make me wanna buy a wheel clamp off Amazon!

FuzzyCustard · 25/08/2016 18:58

Oh good. After a fairly crappy day I really needed a good parking thread. Thank you OP.
I hope you catch the cheeky git and give him/her plenty of verbal MN wisdom.

liletsthepink · 25/08/2016 18:59

Could you sprinkle some birdseed or breadcrumbs over the windscreen and the car roof, then hopefully some birds would leave their mark while having a nice snack!

WannaBeDifferent · 25/08/2016 18:59

Lift the wipers up and carefully smear lipstick on the blades.

ButterBeanSoup · 25/08/2016 19:00

LIVE PARKING THREAD KLAXON!

I fucking love MN Grin

OnyK · 25/08/2016 19:00

I'd be fuming too!

Don't know if this helps? If it's a slow day, the police or traffic wardens might be able to help...

JenLindley I was just coming on to suggest post-it's - brilliant!!!

dancinghulagirl · 25/08/2016 19:02

Still there?

Nails under the trees, not your fault if he drives over them
