There's a car parked on my drive

Arrived home from work to find a car parked on my drive. Thought it might be one of dh's friends but no.

Our drive can fit two cars but the bastard has decided to park at the front of the drive so no chance of parking on the drive and blocking them in like I would like to.

It's making me irrationally angry and I can't stop checking to see if it's gone. Dh doesn't seem to share my annoyance.

Why would anyone decide it's ok to park on someone's drive?!

Doh Shit .... excellent

whersthel1ght · 25/08/2016 18:34

WineWineWineWineWineWineWineBrewBrewBrewBrewBrew thought some refreshments might be needed!

Shaving foam is a fucker to get off the Windows - I suggest TWAT written across the windscreen

Failing that do you know a mechanic who could disconnect the battery for you?!

PovertyPain · 25/08/2016 18:34

runs in, screaming with excitement, at the thought of a parking thread Grin

I suppose I'd better go back to the start and read it now. Blush

insancerre · 25/08/2016 18:34

Accidentally drop a full box of small nails on your drive in front of all 4 tyres

user7755 · 25/08/2016 18:35

If you can't block them in, is there anything heavy you need delivering behind them?

We need to create a situation where they have to come and ask permission to leave your drive...

MissClarke86 · 25/08/2016 18:35

I don't understand how you can't block him in without blocking others - is your driveway very narrow and directly next to someone else's?

Mreva · 25/08/2016 18:35

I honestly would park in front in front of them if I could but with the layout of the road and other peoples drives, paths and parked cars I can't. I cursed them for parking like a double twat because there is enough space on the drive for two cars.

The only place close by without parking is the school at the other end of the road but it surely isn't anyone for there at this time.

I've been at work all day and Dh has been sleeping after a night shift so no idea how long they have been here

Yes block them in and pop a note on the car to your neighbours explaining why and that you are in if they need you to move for access.

Do it right now! The last one of these threads the car was there for over 48hrs then disappeared when the OP wasn't looking. We can't have that sort of anticlimax again Wink

user7755 · 25/08/2016 18:35

Insancerre that's a better idea

Farmmummy · 25/08/2016 18:36

It would be a shame if one of the tyres was punctured in a completely non obvious so clearly not criminal damage way so they couldn't move

CurbsideProphet · 25/08/2016 18:36

I would check with neighbours and warn them I was going to block the drive, in case this blocks them and they need you to move your car.

I live in a flat and people often leave SORN cars in our car park. Some people just have no manners.

BoboBunnyH0p · 25/08/2016 18:36

Love a parking thread, settles in.
Was there a key and garage bill posted thru your door? My garage does pick ups and drops off and if you don't answer they just park the car and post key back thru letter box, so could it be a garage error?

kali110 · 25/08/2016 18:36

They're being a twat.
People used to park over our drive during the school run Hmm
Get out the fucking car to take your kids to school, stop blocking my neighour and i in!!!!

Stellabystarlight · 25/08/2016 18:36

If car really isn't possible then at least block them with your wheely bins so you hear them before they can leave.

HuckleberryGin · 25/08/2016 18:36

I like the tea party on the bonnet idea.

FairyDogMother11 · 25/08/2016 18:36

I have nothing to add but I am watching eagerly to find out what happens. I'd be furious, I get cross when someone parks in front of my house and I don't have any right to be because a) there's no designated parking and b) we don't have a car anyway Grin

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 25/08/2016 18:37

Oooh I love a parking thread. Give them hell, OP.

Vunderbaa - well played. Grin

Trifleorbust · 25/08/2016 18:37

Put a note under the wipers: "This is quite obviously a private drive. Please move your vehicle immediately. Any further incidents will be reported to the police."

They can't actually do anything, but it might stop them trying it again, the cheeky fuckers.

whersthel1ght · 25/08/2016 18:37

Stella is right about the anticlimax but I though they snuck out and moved the car into the road when the op wasn't looking or is stealing someone's driveway becoming a "thing" now?!

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 25/08/2016 18:37

I'd sit out there with a deckchair, flask and blanket Grin

Actually I'd just block them in regardless I'm a bastard

Mybugslife · 25/08/2016 18:38

I think this calls for a passive aggressive post it note!!

ChampagneCommunist · 25/08/2016 18:39

Ask your neighbours if it's OK to temporarily block them in so you can hold this car hostage!

littlemissM92 · 25/08/2016 18:39

ARGH this happened to us once and thankfully my partner was equally pissed off! we have a private drive that's so obvious its private and someone parked on it for THREE days I kid u not we didn't see who it was once but I tried too! Partner left shitty shitty note but wish we had seen who it was! x

Sit DH at the back of it with a water pistol.
