There's a car parked on my drive

Arrived home from work to find a car parked on my drive. Thought it might be one of dh's friends but no.

Our drive can fit two cars but the bastard has decided to park at the front of the drive so no chance of parking on the drive and blocking them in like I would like to.

It's making me irrationally angry and I can't stop checking to see if it's gone. Dh doesn't seem to share my annoyance.

Why would anyone decide it's ok to park on someone's drive?!

I honestly think you should have taken her photo (with the vehicle and reg. no. in full) and posted it all over social media, including local authority FB page... She's obviously avoiding parking charges.

Cheeky feckin cow!

So what happened? They've surely moved by now ?

If only the OP would have updated 2 days ago...

Have you cancelled the cheque?

Yes what happened?

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 27/08/2016 15:21

A woman appeared. Said she didn't think they'd mind.

Had this happen to me. What this poor person did not know is I drove a pickup truck at the time. Cut a long story short he found his car in the middle of the road when he came back. Got to love a towing bar and a nice bit of rope. He certainly chose the wrong driveway to park on that day.

Please don't put stuff on the wiper blades - it is such a completely stupidly dangerous thing to suggest and I'm horrified by the number of posters who think it would be a good punishment.

It's not dangerous if you pour lots of fabric softener all over the windscreen first. They'd start the lipstick-smeared wipers before they set off.

(I think people were, for the most part, kidding anyway.)

Get it clamped...

Muzzytoo · 28/08/2016 08:22

I called my local police (on a non-emergency number. I explained that my vehicle was trapped in the garage and that I needed to get it out urgently.
(All fibs of course, make your own up).
I gave them the registration number. They very quickly sourced the owner and called their home number. Dh/Dw then had to call them and tell them to get it moved immediately.
The perpetrator then had the nerve to come to the door and ask why I got the police involved.... I won't post my response, suffice to say that they haven't done it again.
Hope your local police are as helpful, if not pester the hell out of them. Someone is stealing your property essentially as you no longer have the facility to use it.....
Good luck next time.

I'm also horrified at the by the number of posters suggesting lipstick under the wiper blades. This is so dangerous it's untrue. Unless it's raining when the driver comes to get in the car, the chances are s/he won't turn the wipers on until the car is going at some speed. Thus potentially causing a fatal accident.

One of my friends came back to his car, having left it far too close to another car so the other driver couldn't get in her side. He found the word "prat" written in lipstick across his windscreen. Took him ages to get it off, plus he never did it again.

Summersunshinelover · 28/08/2016 09:55

Someone did this to my MIL. Left the car there for several days. Not on her drive but across the end of it. She has no car so some neighbours just think its OK. Its still her drive and her children who visit all have cars. Its happened several times with various cars. Probably neighbours as they know she doesn't have a car.

The gov have a website where you can check if a car has road tax.
I checked this one online and it didn't so I reported it all via the website. All you need is the make/model/reg and where it is regularly parked and at what times. Just google "report a car with no road tax".

how annoying, lets hope woman doesnt do it again at next wi!!!

agree lipstick on windscreen so can be seen is better/less dangerous then vaseline on blades
