There's a car parked on my drive

Arrived home from work to find a car parked on my drive. Thought it might be one of dh's friends but no.

Our drive can fit two cars but the bastard has decided to park at the front of the drive so no chance of parking on the drive and blocking them in like I would like to.

It's making me irrationally angry and I can't stop checking to see if it's gone. Dh doesn't seem to share my annoyance.

Why would anyone decide it's ok to park on someone's drive?!

I also agree block the bastard in so we know who it is at the end of this. Maybe speak to your neighbors to tell them what you're doing althoughi don't think you allowed to block people on regardless of who's property they are parked on

not place marking or passing round the cold vino or anything

SirChenjin · 25/08/2016 18:41

Isn't lipstick on the windscreen the advice in these cases? V difficult to remove apparently.

TobleroneBoo · 25/08/2016 18:41

Place marking, I was also be watching non stop!

JenLindleyShitMom · 25/08/2016 18:42

check if the car is locked. If not, lean in and let off the handbrake

WhatLizzyDid · 25/08/2016 18:43

I have never hear of this! Can't believe the audacity!! Loving the suggestions

TheHorseWhisperer · 25/08/2016 18:43

Someone needs to link to the last thread so the OP can see all the usual suggestions in this scenario!

Hope we get to hear the excuse of the driver this time

Charge them a fee, Google how much you can rent a drive out for per hour and charge them for at least the time you know them to have been there.

meowli · 25/08/2016 18:44

Have you thought of blocking them in, op?

PikachuSayBoo · 25/08/2016 18:44

Block him in even if it blocks your neighbours.

You need to be commited to this. Someone blocked my drive once and the only way I could block them in was by blocking the entire village High St which is a busy street and a bus route! I did it and went in for a cup of tea -some fucker called the police who made me move my car

SillyMoomin · 25/08/2016 18:44

Do you trust your DH to keep CONSTANT watch if you need to use the toilet op????? If not, cancel the tea!!

SeenoevilHearnoevilSpeaknoevil · 25/08/2016 18:44

Wine ready Wine
Just so you know... If a person has only 3 out of 4 tyres slashed, they can't claim on their compensation.

Just so you know Hmm

Champagneformyrealfriends · 25/08/2016 18:44

Placemarking!!! Give them hell op!

TheWitTank · 25/08/2016 18:45

Ooo yes, lipstick is a great idea. Write I PARK LIKE A COCK in huge letters on the back window.

Bertieboo1 · 25/08/2016 18:45

Ooh wondering who it is.....

JenLindleyShitMom · 25/08/2016 18:46

Have you got gates you could lock?? Or put some sort of barrier across that they can't move alone? Any railway sleepers in your garden Grin

LoveInTokyo · 25/08/2016 18:46

SirChenjin, that is exactly what I was about to suggest.

I'd use a colourless but greasy cheap-as-chips lip balm. Write ALL over the windscreen. A nice long message about how it's really not on to park in other people's driveways and that you'd appreciate it if they would refrain from doing so again.

I did this to someone once, and then sat in my front window and waited. She didn't see it at first, then she got in the car and realised she couldn't see through her windscreen.

Watching her trying to clean it off was well worth the aggro.

Mreva · 25/08/2016 18:46

I've checked with the neighbours opposite whose drive is next to ours but it isn't anything to do with them. Other direct neighbours all appear to be out.

I have put the recycling boxes and wheelie bin in front of the car, but seeing as they can be easily moved I am staying camped on the sofa.

I love a parking thread too. I live down a private drive on an infill plot, but there is a school next door. Came to get out once and a twat had reversed down the top of our drive in his 4x4 Carerra (in white should you be interested) and blocked the drive off. So I stopped behind him and waited, and waited some more and waited. When he arrived he held his hand up and said "ooo sorry but I had to pick my daughter up from school" and then the red mist began to swirl from out of my car windows and the devil inside me unleashed and I left from the car and asked the Twat why he thought him getting his daughter was more important than me driving to get my daughter, and why he thought it ok that as long as his DD was safe and hadn't had to walk far it was ok for my daughter to be stood outside her school wondering where mum was.

I never ever saw him again. It did help that at that time the road is full of school moms collecting their DC from his school at the same time and they clocked every single word.

Hidingtonothing · 25/08/2016 18:47

I LOVE a parking thread! Shameless placemark.

LazySusan11 · 25/08/2016 18:47

Put something in their exhaust so it'll make an ungodly noise alerting to you to the knobs return.

datingbarb · 25/08/2016 18:48

Block them in with your car! If it's going to block your neighbours just let them know what your doing and why and tell them to call if they need access and you will move your car straight away for them!

ArtOfKnit · 25/08/2016 18:49

What kind of person parks on someone's driveway? Love the idea of charging them a parking fee when they turn up!

arethereanyleftatall · 25/08/2016 18:49

Please can we have a photo op?

I'm liking the lipstick idea best so far.

SirKillalot · 25/08/2016 18:50

Its been a while since we've had a good parking thread (not placemarking at all..).
