To think the USA has to choose between two awful candidates

I am just amazed at how U.S. politics has ended up. We have a woman who steals nomination, lies, does speeches to Goldman Sachs then doesn't release them to the public and let's an ambassador die from her incompetence.

On the other side we have an ego maniac who treats people like dirt, attacks every minority under the sun and can't be trusted with the button.

If I was an American I would be ashamed of my country and how much of a joke it is. The amount of money in politics over there is a joke. I am glad we have PM May.

But in all honesty I think Trump is going to win. I have the gut feeling and I've predicted every election/referendum since John major. I predicted EU ref result as well. It scares me I hope I'm wrong, but then I don't like Hillary.

Those who loathe her - do you know what her policies are?

Why on earth should that make a difference ? We know a good proportion of 16,000,000 are quite happy to cast a vote knowing fuck all about anything.

What's with this obsession with "policies" and "facts" everyone has ? Can't people just trust their instincts once in a while ? Jesus !

Lurking, disliking Hilary is hardly instinct. I find it astonishing that her supporters could suggest that to dislike her is to not know her, or harbour some deep-rooted misogyny, or like Trump, or be a Republican.

Is it true Americans don't "do" irony ?

AppleSetsSail · 26/08/2016 12:01

I did indeed detect irony and did my best to interpret (does it go back on itself?) - perhaps I still fell short of the mark.

LurkingHusband · 26/08/2016 12:31

To be fair it was more BritCentric, alluding to the Brexit fiasco. An awful lot of people ignored (what precious few there were) facts and voted "instinct".

Clinton got 3m more votes than Sanders. That's not stealing. She's smart, committed and has spent decades dealing with all kinds of shit. I'd be delighted and proud to vote for her. Trump is, well, Trump.

YANBU. It's the equivalent of a Stoke City v Sunderland FA cup final

Yeah, right.

I don't disagree that she's
smart
committed
has dealt with shit

How does this qualify her to be President?
