It;s to do with attitude OP. I had my last baby at your age, and shortly after started a new business, took up exercise seriously.
Now 16 years on my life has never been better. Still exercising, business is booming, sex life has never been better. Face has some wrinkles but i don't give a damn.

Quite honestly I have never been happier.

Alexisa66 · 13/08/2019 18:17

Naw....it's not. It's a great age!

Sparklesocks · 13/08/2019 18:25

Shit a brick I hope not. I’m positively an antique then.

Mythreefavouritethings · 13/08/2019 18:35

My age. I can sit and watch TOTP2 with happy memories, know all the words to most A-ha songs, remember the days of no mobiles or social media, and have learned some pretty decent life lessons which hopefully I will never have to experience again. Granted, this isn’t the life I would choose as some of the most important people are missing from it but by God I’m enjoying it the best I can for them. We are here. We have time as far as we know. Age is just a reflection in the mirror.

danmthatonestakentryanotheer · 13/08/2019 18:50

I'm 53...I will consider myself old when I'm no longer at the front of a gig dancing like an idiot and waving my arms in the air like I just don't car...because I don't. Grin

DontDribbleOnTheCarpet · 13/08/2019 18:55

Whatever age I am is the perfect age. Anything else is either too old or too young.

LakieLady · 13/08/2019 18:56

No it isn't.

I'm 64 today. Now that's old!

RedWoollyHat · 13/08/2019 19:16

Definitely depends on your attitude. A negative, navel-gazing one doesn't serve anyone well at any age.

Cushionsarecomfie · 13/08/2019 19:29

No. Am the same age and am lucky to have made 40 having being diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer at 38 (now in remission). A lot of people I met on the way would be delighted to still here. Get a grip.

cardibach · 13/08/2019 19:31

I’m 54 and starting a whole new life on Friday - renting out my coastal house and renting a flat in a city. I don’t feel at all old.
My knees do, I have to admit...

4legsandawaggytail · 13/08/2019 19:33

If you don't take care of yourself 42 is old. If you do you can still feel 25 when your 50 and look 35. You chose how you maintain your body and how you want to grow older. A little TLC goes a long long way.

feelingverylazytoday · 13/08/2019 19:34

I'm 59 and don't consider myself old at all. Actually looking forward to my 60th next year, I want to be a very fit 60 year old.
I really love being fit and healthy and not having to wear beige crimpliene slacks or have a blue rinse and set or do any of the things older women used to do and wear.

Hotseat · 13/08/2019 19:34

Yes, yes it is. I'm 57 and sleep in a coffin every night just on case.

Catmar · 13/08/2019 19:35

Yes it is old (53 years old, still going to pubs, gigs, dressing like I did in my twenties). Anyone who tells you it isn't is lying.

Mascarponeandwine · 13/08/2019 19:39

I’m 45 next month. Stuff aches and weight doesnt shift. Still, not dead yet Grin

Mummadeeze · 13/08/2019 19:43

I am 45 and feel no different to how I did in my 30s. I might be delusional but I am happy deluding myself.

floribunda18 · 13/08/2019 19:45

I'm 44 and don't really care whether people think it's old. It is what it is. To everything a season, I enjoyed being younger and I'm enjoying my 40s. I have no wish to repeat my 20s and 30s.

Ludoole · 13/08/2019 19:46

I was a larger lady til 39. Im fitter and slimmer now than i have been in decades. I'm 43 now and some days I feel 90 and others I feel 20.
The bonus is my dp is 56 (And although he's slim and handsome If I do say so myself lol) he will be 60 before I'm 50 GrinGrin

GoGoGoGoGo · 13/08/2019 19:49

Well it’s a bit irrelevant seeing as the OP will be 45 tomorrow....

Zombie thread

Happy birthday OP.

floribunda18 · 13/08/2019 19:51

Also I really don't care about how I look, or rather I don't care what people think about how I look, I'm completely confident in my appearance, something I couldn't say in my 30s or at any time earlier. Not because my appearance is better, but because I have changed my attitude and grown in confidence. I know I am enough and that is absolutely wonderful and liberating.

NameChangedForTheDay · 13/08/2019 19:55

I'm 42. Turning 40 was the end of the world. Now I don't give a fuck, well okay except for a teeny bit if Botox to relax my resting bitch face. 😂
