My Forties have been the best years so far. I'm comfortable in my own skin, mostly loved up with husband and kids (even though they get on my nerves sometimes), job is grand and enough to keep me busy for a few years. And mainly I've stopped giving a shit what other people think of me.

I dread my 40s and beyond. I mean I'm only 35 and I'm pretty fucking tired already.

Just enjoy life if you can - getting older is better than the alternative. Lost a friend last week to cancer she was 42 as am I.

I am sick of my 30s and am glad I'll be 40 this year. Not old, not even middle aged. 40s might have been middle aged a decade or two ago but not anymore.

I'm 47 and I'm enjoying myself so far. I even went to my first Download festival this year, alone, and had a whale of a time. Still have items on my to-do list so not decrepit yet.

Oh, get real. My 80 yr old mother goes dancing every weekend. She sent me a pic recently of herself in the Carribean. In a bikini. Looking fab. The day after she was going snorkelling. Seriously, age is a state of mind

However, since the dawn of such decrepitude I have managed to do all sorts: have a baby, walk up some massive mountains, get a significant award, take up a new outdoor hobby, etc. so all is not lost.
