Because of the mysterious popularity of these threads which no-one is actually responding to, here's the Seventh Thread.

The other ones have all filled up, but I'm not at all sure how.

Sorry, Portia - I didn't see your explanation! That is all new to me - I didn't even know if 9 or 1 was the highest mark! It is confusing if all subjects are not being marked on the same scale yet - it's always hardest for the kids sitting exams during the transitional period. But at least all the ones in your daughter's year are in the same boat!

portia. I don't know. You're still in your thirties; I am 41 with a four year old. Swings and roundabouts, I guess. But I sure do miss dancing around with shirtless young men.

Teen gets her A level results in the morning. I am driving her to school and console/celebrate. Fingers crossed.

Then dp and I are official guests of the Royal Navy tomorrow afternoon/evening. Much free booze, rides of boats and ships, more free booze, men in uniform and Royal Marine band. We still have no idea how we are getting home :o

Better Yes they are the first year to come under the new marking umbrella. Nobody seems to be clear how different results will be interpreted. The Student room site seems confused also.
Dd needs her Maths Economics and Business to carry on at A level. Here's hoping she gets them but if not there is advice at her sixth form. I'll take your advice and wait for a call or text.
Sort of wishing this was next year and then we'd have uni to worry about not silly changes in marking The Exeter site is clear and informative and I know there are admission people on Mn I could ask if I need to. Just need to get dd to apply to more unis
