Ruby basically that we shouldn't subsidise people like Philpott (who set fire to his house with his children inside) and that cases like this highlighted the need to re-examine the 'benefits culture' in the UK. There was a bit of a media storm about it, and thankfully, most people thought his remarks were out of order.

The stereotype is that if you receive benefits you are unintelligent, have no desire to improve your circumstances and are likely to be anti-social. Am thoroughly sick of it. The media perpetuates these stereotypes. It's the old divide and rule scenario. Could rant on forever.....
