to think that 16 weeks is not 4 months!

Friend writes on FB "I can't believe DS is 4 months already". He's not, he's 16 weeks. He'll be 4 months on the 25th. If you carry on like that, they'd be having their first birthday a month early!

Yanu, 16 weeks or 4 months, the difference is close enough not to matter.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/08/2016 15:40

Bugger yes you are unreasonable!

Eatthecake · 15/08/2016 15:41

Yabu. Seriously how can you get so annoyed by something like this? Does it really matter

RiverTam · 15/08/2016 15:42

oh for goodness' sake, I can be as pedantic as the next person but with regard to this, so fucking what? I can tell your going to be someone who posts about their 31 month old and everyone's left scratching their head as to how old this child actually is.

AppleMagic · 15/08/2016 15:42

If she was asked his age and rounded up to four months - this makes a lot of sense...But it's not what actually happened in the OP.

Celebrating the day of his 4 month birthday on Facebook (why would you do this anyway), but getting it a week out is a bit stupid.

ElsaAintAsColdAsMe · 15/08/2016 15:43

I wouldn't worry about reading your friends banal offerings if you respond like that again. You'll be blocked from everyone's pages.

Whether people round things up or down a bit is really no big deal at all Confused

PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 15/08/2016 15:43

I don't even know how old my 5+ month old DD is in weeks Grin I feel like maybe I should know this though

unimagmative13 · 15/08/2016 15:47

The amount of times people post on mums groups do I wean at 24 weeks if the recommendation is 6 months.

NO! You weaning on the day of their birth 6 months later.

Also I have a 13 months and a 25 month old.

So they are 1&2 then Hmm

KondosSecretJunkRoom · 15/08/2016 15:49

Another friend wrote "I can't believe DS will be 3 in 6 months" to which I responded "I thought his birthday was Jan 2nd". She then quickly edited it.

Why though? Just let your friends be it's not hurting anyone. I just don't see what you are getting out of this, why is it so important to put everyone right?

PansyGiraffe · 15/08/2016 15:49

Just be grateful for a friend who cares enough to keep track of the precise number of weeks. No one else cares about this as much as you, the mother, do (probably including the father).

Remember - WWES?*

[*What would Elsa say?]

Snowwhitequeen · 15/08/2016 15:49

Yabu to waste precious energy on a hot day like today (or any day in fact) giving a fig whether your FB friend posts months instead of weeks and is therefore a bit inaccurate. If it irritates you that much hide her, because seriously, there are bigger things to get upset about! I think she'd probably be Hmm about you if she read this.

FatherHiroshimaTwinky · 15/08/2016 15:50

Well my DD is 8,339 days. Maybe I should round it up to 8,340 Grin

EnoughAlready999 · 15/08/2016 15:50

RiverTam I already have a DD and don't post anything about her.

OP posts:
PansyGiraffe · 15/08/2016 15:51

Oops - thought she was talking about your DS not hers, sorry!

EverySongbirdSays · 15/08/2016 15:52

The obsession with weeks not months and months not years with PFB is so bad it inspired a spoof thread by Do I LTB because he let MIL give my 4518 week old a Fruit Shoot?

Was quite funny

YABU

TheNaze73 · 15/08/2016 15:52

Get a grip OP Smile

Butteredparsn1ps · 15/08/2016 15:54

peppa are you me? I never knew with PFB so by DC3 I barely knew how many months she was. Grin

bibbitybobbityyhat · 15/08/2016 15:54

Does it actually matter?

This thread is up there with the "which way round do you hang your toilet roll?" as truly one of the most boring threads in the whole history of Mumsnet ever.

EnoughAlready999 · 15/08/2016 15:54

She's been Hmm about me for years Snow! She told me I'm autistic.

OP posts:
KondosSecretJunkRoom · 15/08/2016 15:55

Well my DD is 8,339 days. Maybe I should round it up to 8,340 Grin

Don't you dare, each day is precious and they pass so quickly! (except in the summer holidays when time goes backwards)

GastonsPomPomWrath · 15/08/2016 15:55

I can't believe you all can get so excited about this! Weeks, months, years...who on earth fucking cares about this?!

cherryplumbanana · 15/08/2016 15:57

Well my DD is 8,339 days. Maybe I should round it up to 8,340

Oh please, don't give them any ideas! It's bad enough with the age in weeks, let's stop here pretty please. Why do people do that?

OP, your friend rounded up. Leave her be, I want to meet her, she sounds lovely.

Nocabbageinmyeye · 15/08/2016 15:58

You sound really fucking petty and not very nice at all even if you are right

VladmirsPoutine · 15/08/2016 16:01

I find the months thing very twee after the first year. Unless you are speaking to GP, HCP or some other person with a vested interest in specifics then round it to a number.

DotForShort · 15/08/2016 16:01

Meh, close enough. Shrug.
