Packing to go on a caravan holiday with dh and ds almost 7 months. Had terrible weather, so visited my mum again in hospital, then came home early, to be told she'd died the next day. So relieved I'd fitted in that one extra visit.

I was a couple of weeks off being three, and my sister had just been born. I can't remember much! Can you do a twenty five or twenty years ago thread?!

In the midst of probably one of the most difficult periods of my life.

I suspected my husband of infidelity. I experienced domestic violence (including strangulation which he intended to kill me). My dd was only just four years old. I had no job, no degree. The house (a third funded by my parents) was on a mortgage from my husband's employers so my tenure without him was not secure.

A few weeks later, a man phoned to say my husband was having an affair with his girlfriend. That gave me the excuse I needed to ask him to leave. More hard times followed, then better one.

May not have been this exact day but I remember my auntie taking me to a department store and speaking to her friend on the perfume counter about it. I got all embarrassed when they were going on about how much I'd be a big girl etc. I got embarrassed pretty easily and I'm not much different these days tbh

I was 14, hung around with the cool girls but we were all hopelessly insecure. Wouldn't rewind to that point if you paid me. I'd be tempted to go back to when I was 18 though- I'd got my shit together a bit by then. Confidence through the roof and no idea how or where to channel it.

I was 12 and having a great summer break as family from overseas were staying with us which helped distract from my dad's vile bad tempers. Glad to be 30 years on!
