My dc think I am. They won't even sit in the room when it's on. They say urgh mum you and your bad TV shows and bugger off to their bedrooms. They hate everybody loves Raymond as well.

I'm getting my coffee and croissants ready for my favourite hour in the morning. Grin I love working term time and having enough mornings to waste watching crap TV.

Kelsey grammar presents as a bit of a creep. One of my guilty pleasures is The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and his ex wife was one of them, the few scenes he appeared in were pretty icky.

AllMyBestFriendsAreMetalheads · 02/08/2016 11:10

It's possibly the only sitcom where I actually really like all the characters, even all the ones at the radio station.

Friends is great, but Ross' 'issues' are well documented on MN and I can even get a bit Phoebe'd out at times. And Joey ended up fairly ridiculous.

I think Niles' secret love for Daphne was better than once they were together, but I think they had to get together in the end. Daphne, Lillith and Ros are great characters.

Kelsy grammar in rl does definitely present as a creep. How many wives, a few almost law suits one for a 17yr old that was dropped plus the coke and drink. I cannot comprehend that fraiser isn't real. In my head kelsey grammar should be exactly like fraiser and definitely not a die hard anti abortion Republican!

That's what I meant - you feel like in RL he should also be a cultured, educated, pompous Europhile with a kind heart, and anything else is just plain wrong.

hooliodancer · 02/08/2016 11:44

That clip is so funny, I have never seen that episode. Thanks so much for giving me a laugh!

99GBPChargeToUseMyPostsJournos · 02/08/2016 11:44

Ooh and the one with the Halloween prank between Frasier and Bulldog.

ssd · 02/08/2016 11:47

Frasier is just brilliant

I'm also getting into Modern Families as well

didnt Kelsey Grammar have a sister who was brutally murdered? I'm sure I read that, very sad story

MargotLovedTom · 02/08/2016 11:51

Oh the early series of Modern Family are hilarious. Later ones not so much but it's still comfort viewing, because you feel like you know the characters so well.
Yes, I think I also read that re KC.

InNeedOfABatcave3 · 02/08/2016 11:52

Yy margot it turns your world upside down. It's probably because it had been such a long running sitcom that it doesn't feel fake.

I think his sister was kidnapped and murdered by their childhood friends for a ransom! How bloody horrible is that!

I adore Frasier...every time it comes to the end of a run on channel 4 they start it all over again the next day - and I still keep watching it.

One of my all time favourites is when Martin is worried that he mightn't be Frasier and Niles' biological father, and sees them singing with the guy he suspects. The way he tries to join in but doesn't know the words creases me up every time, but also makes me feel for him. It's so well done

OwlinaTree · 02/08/2016 18:24

Do you remember the one where Ros meets the father of Alice's parents and they both have huge noses? How those actors kept a straight face I have no idea!

Ronagtl · 02/08/2016 18:48

Thought the OP said Fraisier and I was 'YES!' (Sit com is also pretty good!) Grin

Love Frasier.
Saw Kelsey Grammar on some chat show recently and he totally implied he was going to vote Trump.

drigon · 02/08/2016 22:03

Love the one where Daphne is trying to get more privacy and Frasier, Niles and Eddie all end up being caught by her in her room. Eddie has her bra in his mouth. That bit always makes me scream with laughter. Many excellent episodes, though. Niles' greyhound being just like Maris too is hilarious-something like, "she only eats every third day and she's so white she's almost blue."

megletthesecond · 05/08/2016 09:23

I've got the dc's playing "guess what Simpsons character that man plays".

stripeyzebra32 · 05/08/2016 11:08

Bought the box set for DH a couple of years ago. Was adamant I wouldn't like it but I was very wrong it's hillarious.

Our favourite episode is where Fraiser meets a lady at the opera and invites her and her male gay friend back for drinks.
He assumes Martin is gay and instead of putting him straight he tells him Niles is his partner. Niles comes along and gets put in the picture and puts on a gay character flouncing around.

Also love the radio theme tune one.

ginghamstarfish · 05/08/2016 11:10

Agree, maybe the best comedy series ever (even better than Friends). Guaranteed laughs and witty remarks in every episode!

annielouise · 05/08/2016 11:36

I love it too - so many episodes mentioned upthread. Love the Dr Mary ones as well. When Niles tells Frasier he needs to just speak to her so they talk through how the conversation will go with Frasier talking like a black woman. The slapstick is so funny, the dialogue so witty at times. You can rewatch and pick something new up time after time. Best comedy ever to me. Niles was the best.

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 05/08/2016 11:45

IMO Frasier started out great, dipped after Niles and Daphne resolved the whole unrequited thing and then had one last great series trying it all up.

Furiosa · 05/08/2016 12:17

I love Frasier too.

Gil Chesterton has to be one of the funniest secondary characters. Especially in the episode where they are making that radio thriller play:

"Never again to revisit the scene of my boyhood in Surrey, ROMPING with my schoolchums in the thins and spinneys..."

Bulldog was great too I wish Roz would have given him a chance Sad

IfWishesWereKisses · 05/08/2016 12:30

Fridge pants Grin

SnipSnipMrBurgess · 05/08/2016 12:30

My favourite scene is when the Hot and Foamy goes off in the bathroom. - Ive not remembered the full lines so I just googled them .

Daphne: Dr. Crane! Are you all right?

Niles: I'm fine. Just a little hot. And foamy.

Martin: You know what must have happened? My "Hot & Foamy" must have exploded!

Daphne: He was a detective, you know.

So well done!

OliviaStabler · 05/08/2016 12:32

That show is the funniest show ever. I have a secret crush on Niles!

mixety · 05/08/2016 13:33

I love the one where Frasier and Niles try to write a swing-type song with their dad, I think it's called 'groovy lady'. Any bits that involve the brothers singing/at the piano are always great!

Lillith is definitely my favourite secondary character, and it was always funny to see Martin being so afraid of her. I wasn't initially a fan of Bebe's over the top-ness but she won me over eventually. Agree that all of Daphne's family were hideous and way over-used.

I wish Frasier had ended up with that woman who he knew from high school, who was loud and brash and totally wrong for him on paper but just somehow clicked with anyway. I can't remember the name of the characters but I think she ended up getting back with her ex husband after some sort of selfless act on Frasier's part.

SnipSnipMrBurgess · 05/08/2016 15:16

She's such a groovy lady - she makes my heart go hady hady!
