Why haven't you just text the childminder OP? Why not just point out that it's not a real ticket, you know that and you have contacted the Zoo? Threaten to report her to whoever you need to? Then you'd get your money back and this'll be over. You'll still need to find alternative childcare but at least you can stop posting on this thread if it's upsetting you.

Give the poor childminder a break. She's obviously thinking the OP's DC wants something good for his scrapbook and a receipt with a barcode on wasn't going to excite a small child so she went to considerable effort to produce something that he'd find more interesting.....

OP, I actually think this is the worst part of the incident. Taking your money and lying is one thing, but treating your DS (and probably other DCs) like this is quite cruel in my opinion. I'm not surprised you're angry.
