Firstly this is light hearted, before people start getting hot under the collar.

In town with dh. I noticed bedding with a unicorn/pegasus type horse and I buy it. We do have lots of bedding but I needed this in my life. Dh thinks I was unreasonable as we have lots of bedding. I say unicorn / pegasus horse trumps needs as I wanted it! I have also said he can retire an old set. Aibu to buy something odd just because I want it?

Can you afford it?
Will you use it?
Do you love it?

If the answer to ask if the above is yes, then yadnbu.

Does he never buy anything that he doesn't need just because he likes it ?

Pineapplemilkshake · 31/07/2016 16:03

I would buy it. I love unicorns and recently bought a unicorn top from Sainsburys that I often wear to work with a black lace jacket over it! Go for it.

NeedACleverNN · 31/07/2016 16:06

Unicorn/Pegasus bedding is obviously needed!!

Yanbu

As long as you can afford it, go for it

NapQueen · 31/07/2016 16:09

Yabu for not sharing the details. Where from? How much?

DonkeyOaty · 31/07/2016 16:19

Yes we need unicorn bedding deets

He is being VU

mailfuckoff · 31/07/2016 16:25

16 pounds from asda. We can afford it and it's going on the bed today :-)

DonkeyOaty · 31/07/2016 16:29

I thought the Asda bedding was out of stock Envy

Sweet dreams tonight!

Was it this one? Nice!

mailfuckoff · 31/07/2016 16:33

Yes that's the one. I thought they looked well classy :-)

Nannawifeofbaldr · 31/07/2016 16:35

I suspect my DH's objection to that bedding would not be based on price...

CurlsLDN · 31/07/2016 16:36

Are you sure that the motivation of his argument isn't that actually he just really dislikes the design?
I would make up as many arguments as I could against sleeping in a bed with that bedding. Sorry op, you are absolutely entitled to your taste, but to me that bedding looks ugly. But if you like it I hope it brings you much joy!

ghostyslovesheep · 31/07/2016 16:46

for a girl of 12 yanbu - for an adult - I'm with your DH!

ghostyslovesheep · 31/07/2016 16:47

that should be for a CHILD of 12 obviously - no reason why boys can't love unicorns!

Ememem84 · 31/07/2016 16:50

Want.

In the same way I wanted the penguin bedding m&s were selling around Christmas time that Dh wouldn't let me buy because it was too expensive he was right

99GBPChargeToUseMyPostsJournos · 31/07/2016 16:55

How many children of 12 have a super king bed?

AlpacaPicnic · 31/07/2016 17:01

I currently have this on my bed thanks to a similar post last year... But then I have special Christmas bedding and have been told I'm VU for that too!

Alpaca - where is that from?! Love

LoreleiGilmoreIsMyBFF · 31/07/2016 17:10

I'm with you, OP! There are just too many great duvet covers around at the moment! I'm actually worse at Christmas - I have to have a new Christmas duvet each year. And I place the entire blame on bloody Asda...

Mycatsabastard · 31/07/2016 17:10

YANBU. I once went into town to buy something utterly mundane and came home with bedding covered in penguins. It looks like Happy Feet is being filmed on our bed. I love it!

Life should be filled with little spots of happiness like bedding with unicorns or penguins on it.

embo1 · 31/07/2016 17:11

That's grounds for divorce right there!

ImOnMyTumbleTap · 31/07/2016 17:15

My DP wouldn't let me buy Christmas bedding. Sad I might just buy it, wash it and put it on the bed while he's out so he can't make me take it back! Grin YANBU!

LoreleiGilmoreIsMyBFF · 31/07/2016 17:15

I sort of regret the 'stag' one - Asda special offer, but otherwise, no shame. I admit it is a bit sad that no-one except my son and I get to see my amazing collection of bedding, but it makes me happy....

2kids2dogsnosense · 31/07/2016 19:08

Every girl needs a unicorn bedding set

Enjoy!

AlpacaPicnic · 31/07/2016 19:10

That was from Asda last year. Someone posted it in here and we - the mumsnet as DH calls us - had it sold out within a day iirc. I love it so much it's been in constant-rotation on my bed apart from Christmas when it got replaced by the festive bedding for the whole of December

See festive bedding under cats...

I have a monkey duvet.

Today's duvet has little houses on it.
