I am a runner, Im so tired of people's dogs running and jumping on me while i'm on a run. Its always dog owners with the larger dogs, if you have a dog that is excitable and is known to chase jump and be a general nuisance to others trying to enjoy the park please put it on a lead.

I suffer severe allergies and today a dog jumped on me while i'm out running and scratched my leg. I have now got a 4 inch scratch which could scar from the knee down. The lazy owner had the dog off a lead and was very overweight so could not keep up with the dog running off ahead.

She then had the nerve to tell me i was out of order for kicking the dog off me.

Please Dog Owners put your dog on a lead.

I don't trust people that hate animals

I hate cockroaches.

Do you love them too? Grin

I would throw my arms around it and smoosh its face but that's probably not very helpful Grin

Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say I hate cockroaches but they are pretty grim!

Okay bye Navy good luck with "Dogsnet"
You'll be free to go on about silly baby who managed to get mauled by out of control dog because at 6months you should know not to let canine jump up at your pushchair!!

Kalopsia77 · 28/07/2016 21:49

Seriously though Navy's advice is spot on. I used to look after a lot of big boisterous dogs who would jump up and push boundaries in their "teenage" stage. Total calm, firm, hands in pockets and turn away. They soon get the message. Not so easy if ambushed in public though I'm sure!

Ghanagirl · 28/07/2016 21:50

SeamstressfromTreacleMineRoad
I'm sure but I had assumed that most people love their human children more than pet animals!
Obviously I was wrong😕

EllsTeeth · 28/07/2016 21:51

If a dog jumped up at me or my kids and did not immediately back off when I shouted I would absolutely kick it to get it off. I don't care if your mutt is "just being friendly". I don't know your dog, I don't know if it could harm my child and in any case its attentions are very definitely unwelcome thanks very much! Similarly I would not let my young children bother some stranger when out in public and I recognise that most people do not want their attentions. Get a grip (some) dog owners - not everyone finds your pooch cute.

Kalopsia77 · 28/07/2016 21:51

And dogs generally don't want to run around eating babies. Still, always a good idea for dog (and baby) owners to be vigilant and sensible Smile

Went to a Dogstrust session aimed at little kids. They were told to have the X factor. Stand still and cross arms like an x. Totally boring for dogs and they will go and find something more interesting.

Lweji · 28/07/2016 21:53

Or blame the children who were attacked by Ms Anne's dogs, responsible dog owner, who was fined by her own mother. :)

Ghanagirl · 28/07/2016 21:56

If you work in A&E or as Health visitor you'd realise lots of children under 5 are bitten by dogs often family pet.
Navy if your children not as well behaved as your dogs maybe you need to think about priorities...

TortoiseVTurtle · 28/07/2016 22:00

Ghana I was an A&E nurse, dog bites don't stand out in my mind, we had cat bites too, hamster bites. The worst were those injuries inflicted by cars and other humans Angry

Curiously, I fail to remember the last time anyone has died from a cat bite.

BTW, I was once bitten by a bloody mouse. Evil buggers.

TortoiseVTurtle · 28/07/2016 22:03

My dd2 has autism, she didn't speak until we got a dog (used to be terrified of them). That dog has changed her life, I really worry that lots of children are brought up to fear dogs and will not know the pleasure that they can bring.

TortoiseVTurtle · 28/07/2016 22:04

Curiously, you can get blood borne infections from anything, including a human bite. Anyone got any good daily mail quotes yet?
