It is the summer holidays so ds has to be with a childminer, for 3 days a week. I pay her for the actual care she provides, then i pay for any visits to places on top of that, they were supposed to be going to the zoo today and i had paid £21 for ds's zoo ticket and i know that isnt loads but tbh with the cost i had already paid for her to look after him it was almost today's wages! ds goes there with 2 boys and a little girl aswell all around the same age give or take. Ds got home and was telling me all about his trip to the local museum (which was free) i did not have a problem with that he seemed to have had a great time. I phoned up the childminder and asked if she could just paypal the money back over and she said that she had no idea what i was going on about and that she took them to the zoo Hmm I know children do love to use their imagination, so i was a bit undecided, ds kept going on about the objects he had seen and told me a story about a man showing them the kids bit. ds has never been to this museum and it was just odd how well he was explaining it. I would love to phone the other parents but tbh i dont actually know them! it's all very odd...

All around the country there must be kids sat hungry waiting for tea cause their mam's are all awaiting a fake zoo ticket... haha

PickleLickle83 · 01/08/2016 19:08

I love how invested we all are, apart from the actual OP Hmm

fastdaytears · 01/08/2016 19:09

I know! You've got to love the fact that the only person in the country with Internet access who's not obsessed with zoogate is the one who's living though it!

PaulAnkaTheDog · 01/08/2016 19:10
Hmm
minionsrule · 01/08/2016 19:11

My DS is crying cos he wants to play Cluedo - I said no, not until OP comes back. Can I claim for his counselling in years to come?

durezz · 01/08/2016 19:11

I've been following this thread but haven't replied...until now

So much suspense!!

I hope it's worth it!!!

mrspitt · 01/08/2016 19:11

I've been reading this from the beginning and the suspense is killing me! I've been a Childminder for 10 years. I take photos of the kids all the time, from mundane activities to days out to big trips. I'll send them to parents with a comment. If I had taken kids to the zoo, I would have many photos which in time I get printed and put up on the notice board. I don't tend to take money for these types of trips either as I see it as a treat. However, if a parent asked me for "evidence" of our trip I would always be able to provide something credible....along with the children being able to say where they had been!
AND...sometimes these kind of days out don't always fit into regular hours so I ensure that there are things in place should we be late home etc..
I'm not saying she's lying but ALL my minded children would be able to say where we have been and what we have done at age 5.
If I'd made a mistake, I would have said so and given the money back. Then apologised and offered to do it another time.

amprev · 01/08/2016 19:11

Yes to Hmm

Mrstumbletap · 01/08/2016 19:12

Aaaaaahhh the suspense!!! If it's a 3 course dinner OP you are just going to have to post between courses Grin

OydNeverDeclinesGin · 01/08/2016 19:12

Anyone else think the OP is now desperately making a fake, fake ticket?😉

53rdAndBird · 01/08/2016 19:13

Now, now, OP's probably busy answering the door or something. (To the childminder, who'S turned up on her doorstep with a stolen lemur under her arm shouting "see? PROOF!")

minionsrule · 01/08/2016 19:13

I'm bored, shall we chat amongst ourselves? Anyone looking forward to the Rio Games?

user1469643462 · 01/08/2016 19:13

sorry... Genuinely had lots of stuff to do (like always when I get in from work) sorry to disappoint but the ticket isn't all that. Just need to know if this is normal before I go crazy.

I've just spent wasted about half an hour reading this thread & had complaints about the timeliness of the catering in this establishment from my kids for my trouble. Now I need to see this ticket. Grin

OrchidsAndLace · 01/08/2016 19:13

To be fair, it must be effing surreal to have hundreds dozens of random strangers putting their lives on hold to find out if your son went to the zoo or not!

I can't actually figure out what has got me so intrigued/invested in this

RuggerHug · 01/08/2016 19:14

Dsis(fellow MNer) and I are here for the update in the pub and demand to see the pic of the ticket! (Yes our lives are so exciting we discussed a MN threadBlush on wine)

durezz · 01/08/2016 19:14

This is all basically to see if the CM has pocketed £20 of the OP's money isn't it?

£20 has never looked more valuable lol Grin

Lenska999 · 01/08/2016 19:14

Surely you don't need to ask if that's normal?

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 01/08/2016 19:15

Is she saying she paid online and printed a ticket off? Because if so it would have some sort of barcode.

LoreleiGilmoreIsMyBFF · 01/08/2016 19:15

Is it burnt never been of Chester Zoo

eatingtomuch · 01/08/2016 19:15

RuggerHug · 01/08/2016 19:15

That looks like shite OP. I have never been to said zoo but....nah. that's not a ticket!

BastardGoDarkly · 01/08/2016 19:16
