Morning all!

Once more into the breach, dear friends - only another 648 posts to go!

toadgirl · 02/08/2016 10:28

I was up half the night not feeling well. Why on earth didn't I think to post here? I could at least have helped boost this thread with dozens of posts. What a fool I am Blush

PortiaCastis · 02/08/2016 12:12

Hope you feel better now toadgirl

toadgirl · 02/08/2016 12:33

Thanks, Portia

I had SVT most of the night with my heart rate running high. Ugh. I have to remember to barely eat in the evening or it can happen upon lying down. I'm on 2 x medications for it already

PortiaCastis · 02/08/2016 12:42

Sounds awful toadgirl I have no experience of it but take care of yourself

toadgirl · 02/08/2016 12:42

Thanks, Portia I just remember some words of wisdom from your other thread. Think what some of those older women have been through. If they can do it, so can I :)

PortiaCastis · 02/08/2016 12:54

Oh yes Gran has been into the local convenience store and taken them to task because she didn't like the look of the bananas and of course had to ring me and also Mum to advise us not to buy bananas todayGrin. Poor shop manager he has my sympathy !

Bettercallsaul1 · 02/08/2016 12:58

That's terrible, toadgirl - have you always had SVT or did it suddenly start?

toadgirl · 02/08/2016 14:03

It suddenly started when I was around 45.

I've heard that happen to few people. Or atrial fibrillation suddenly starting. The risks increase as you get older.

I've had a lot of stress the past few years and have an autoimmune disease. I don't know if it's a reaction to medications I'm on, the stress or who knows what?

Heart problems don't run in my family on either side.

On the plus side - so far- mine seems completely postural. It only happens sometimes if I am bending down, but mostly when I lie down to go to sleep. My stomach needs to be completely empty to have any hope of not triggering it. Good for the diet!

My heart is normal according to MRI. I have lowish blood pressure and a good heart rate. They asked me if I'd been an athlete in my younger days (hahahah what a joke!). Turns out my smallish and troubled lungs have made my heart work overtime for years so it's as fit as a fiddle.

Oh dear. Flowers

Bettercallsaul1 · 02/08/2016 14:35

So it's more of a complete nuisance than a threat to your health? And you know when to expect it - going to bed at night. What a pest not being able to eat in the evening - no going out for dinner then? I hope you can still have a glass of wine (while MNing).

toadgirl · 02/08/2016 14:39

Yes, it doesn't mean imminent heart failure or anything though I did have anxiety about that in the beginning! If it were to go into the 200 beats a minute and not come down for a while, I'd probably be well-advised to go to A+E. Last night it was no higher than 120 at any point. I feel winded in my stomach and I can feel my chest hammering away. I've got kind of used to it, it's more of a bore than anything else. Yes, I eat very lightly in the evenings now which is difficult as I do like a bit plate of food.

Yes, I can still have the odd glass of wine. I've never done any MNing with wine before - probably time I gave it a try :)

Thanks for the flowers, Vanilla very kind :)

toadgirl · 02/08/2016 14:39

*big plate

Bettercallsaul1 · 02/08/2016 14:55

I must confess I'd never heard of SVT until now - such ignorance. Whoever said this was an informative thread was right.

PortiaCastis · 02/08/2016 15:11

Agree BettercallSaul1 I had to look the condition up, must confess to ignorance too.

Flowers there you go toadgirl I was going to give cake but wasn't sure as some people can't eat it.

Vanilla I know I've been near the mark on your thread about the delectable Mr Turner. It's my intention to be humourous and bump the post numbers up. Hope that's ok.

toadgirl · 02/08/2016 15:37

Wow, thanks for the cake Portia

I need to confess ignorance too regarding Mr Turner. Tell me all!

Bettercallsaul1 · 02/08/2016 15:50

Never apologise; never explain. Portia. Grin We all know you were on the Wine

PortiaCastis · 02/08/2016 17:04

Grin Blame Aidan he opened the bottle plied me with alcohol and ...............

VanillaSugar · 02/08/2016 17:08

Portia it was brilliant. I tried to upload a photo of "Sexy Boris Johnson" but the interweb wouldn't let me, for some reason Grin. Thank you for your efforts xx

Now, let's get back to this being an informative thread. If Trotsky is called Leon, what was Lenin called? And don't say John.

Vladimir googleismyfriend
So if Donald Trump had a bump on his head and caused a lump what happened next?

Bettercallsaul1 · 02/08/2016 17:20

Does this have to rhyme?

Bettercallsaul1 · 02/08/2016 17:21

Oh, I know! He gave up running for President and made the world a safer place?

PortiaCastis · 02/08/2016 17:25

Rhyming not compulsory but yes you have the right answer 10/10

PortiaCastis · 02/08/2016 17:27

I'm reeling at the thought of sexy Boris Johnson do he and Trump share a syrup?

Bettercallsaul1 · 02/08/2016 17:36

share a syrup - is this some kind of sinister euphemism?
