"Polite Notice"

I'm currently staying at the Camping and Caravan Club campsite at Keswick.

Every notice appears to be titled "Polite Notice".

AIBU in wanting to rip them all down for ridiculousness.

The C&CC is a professional business and we are all paying customers of it.... As such they shouldn't have to tell us it's a polite notice - it should just BE a polite notice....

You're right, it shouldn't need to be pointed out that's it's polite. Are the signs otherwise rudely worded?

I have to type and display "polite notice" posters at work. We were told in training they had to be polite notices and not passive aggressive

I thought they were done that way so at a glance it looks like police notice. Certainly the ones near here about keeping speed down near school are like that

Get lots of emails at work that contain "gentle reminders" about meetings etc.
Rather than big bash you over the head ones I suppose.

To make a notice truly Polite, important words, like 'Poo', should be capitalised and, ideally, underlined.

The word gentle used like that really irritates me. Especially on here. "I would sit her down and gently tell her..."
Makes me think of hand holding, shoulder patting and whispering.

I get reminder, stock allocations notices etc texts from my head office ALL starting with 'polite reminder' enraged me I so wish it didn't I really want to text Fuck off knob cheese back

They should all just say:
"Oi.... You..... Nooooo"

Where I used to work we had to visit another site to do part of our jobs there. This was always a difficult as we didn't really get on with the people who worked in the other place... anyway they had tea and coffee which we were allowed to help ourselves to as long as we put some cash in their pot.

On one occasion a notice went up, directed at us visitors, which read ' it has been noticed and commented on that people are helping themselves to the tea and coffee without paying the donation...'

It was the totally unnecessary 'and commented on' that gave me the rage.

The politer and gentler the notice, the more it has to effect of making me wilfully do the thing I'm being asked not to do.

It's because some people get offended by being 'told' what to do even though it's pretty fucking obvious that they should do it and so the word "polite" acts to soften the blow to the delicate snowflakes.

I'd be tempted to put a post it over with "rude" written on.

We have a notice at work that reads "please leave the toilet as you wish to find it - clean"

The explanation of "clean" at the end amuses me greatly.

Oh god I'm guilty of sending "gentle reminders". It's because a large part of my job involves nagging people about stuff and I want them to like me. Now they don't like me because I send "gentle reminders". I'm fucked either way really, aren't I?

Rude notice - keep your unruly spawn under control in the facilities. It's not a fucking playpark.

you are right but we used to belong to caravan club and they were the same .its a bit sad but some folk just do what they like and need to treated like small children

The C&CC don't do thug camping . Those of us who joined the club did it so that we can get away from the riff raff who have their signs written in crayon in words of one syllable. Our signs are always polite and neatly typed, and face to face confrontation interaction is avoided at all costs. Do you know nothing??
