DH died when I was 36 weeks pregnant. DD2 is two today! (DD1 nearly 6). Since she was born I've got back to work nearly full time, learned to drive and done the London marathon in aid of CRUK. My daughters are happy and healthy and have the most amazing bond. I've made a ton of mistakes but right now I just want to be proud.

Your children are incredibly fortunate to have you; what an amazing role model. My goodness, they'll look at you and know just how strong and resiliant people can be! It will inspire them no end.

You should be so proud, and I'm sure those around you are. I hope you all have a wonderful day. X Cake Flowers

Of all the fellow wids on here, you're one of the most inspirational.

I know that birthdays and special occasions have something bittersweet about them after such a huge loss, and DD2's birth, especially, must give you a barrage of memories. So be kind to yourself and when you're not spoiling her today, and celebrating what a huge gift your DH gave you, in her, before he died, take a few minutes to relax and look after yourself too. Flowers

I'm so glad you posted and we can all wish DD2 A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

sleepyhippo · 14/07/2016 10:14

How amazing. I saw my own mother struggle with the death of my step dad when my siblings were small and it's so difficult.

Now on maternity leave with my own little boy I don't know how I would cope without the support of my husband.

How strong you are lady. Happy birthday to your little girl!

Lots of love on this beautiful sunny day Flowers

BathshebaDarkstone · 14/07/2016 10:17
