It's an unpleasant and aggressive way of saying 'I like you' I suppose . Weird.

In my experience it's used as an excuse for rudeness, but when they really don't like you they don't actually have the guts to tell you why they don't like you.

Argh "I say it how it is" really aggravates me, because no, you don't. You say it you perceive it to be and it's your enormous ego that prevents you from even contemplating a different viewpoint... I avoid people who say things like this as much as humanly possible!!!

Oh lordy. I worked with a woman who used to say that all the fucking time.

She didn't even use it correctly, she imagined slights everywhere;

Eurgh I really find people who think honesty gives them an excuse to be plain nasty, totally repulsive. My ex best friend was like this would frequently say 'don't ask me a question if you don't want to hear the truth' blah blah, she turned out to be the biggest manipulator ever!

That being said, I am trying to work on being more assertive and say what I feel out loud. Years of not sticking up for myself has led me to regret not being more 'rude'
