To think my friend totally cockblocked me

Cockblocked · 08/07/2016 17:36

Met a guy at the weekend whilst out with my mate. Didn't manage to change numbers, no worries it happens.

The next day she sent me a picture message of a message he had sent her on FB asking for my number (they have a mutual friend). She asked me if I wanted to give it to him and I said yes. A week passed and no fact, she even asked me twice if he had text.

Anyway I've just had a message from him on FB (not sure how as my FB is totally locked down, with my first name and middle name). He said he knows I didn't want to give him my number but wanted to message just in case I changed my mind.

I messaged back and said oh I told X to give it to you. He sent me a screenshot of their convo where she said oh I don't think she's up for it sorry!

She totally just cockblocked me didn't she?

clitoference

Brilliant!

But I feel clitoference should be reserved for the more stealth evil genius, not your standard tit thruster!

Clamslam sounds like something you'ld do in a contact sport! (an odd contact sport granted!0

Jesus fucking Christ I'm loving the new words I'm learning on here. Never heard of cockblocked before let alone the others (skips off to write words down and think where I can slide them into a conversation).

Earlier on someone mentioned pick up artists, Neil Strauss and other misogynist twunts were indeed using the term cockblock way back when. Think it was even used once in Friends, wasn't it?

Had a friend do this to me, yes. Still no idea why she felt the need but at least it opened my eyes as to the potential fidelity or lack thereof of the object of my attentions at the time.

Anyhoo I am all for making some shite up so here goes...

A Muschikibosh is known in certain circles as a fanjo duelling banjo situation: that biatch fanjobanjoed me
You're welcome. can I post such shite on urban dictionary now

Milanisabadman · 10/07/2016 09:04

Cockblock is an "urban" word (featured a fair bit in the American rap music I used to listen to in the late 90s onwards). That said, yes this is a clear case of cockblocking and not only that, you "friend" is continuing to be sheisty with it too. Wedging herself between you and a guy in a club is bad enough but to offer to put you in contact with the guy then do the opposite with a lie is a bitch-move.

carabos · 10/07/2016 09:28

I married the guy who was supposed to be my ONS

Thingamajiggy · 10/07/2016 10:30

PLEASE update us with her answer?! Dying to know why someone would do that (or at least the reason they'll give...)

GingerLDN · 10/07/2016 15:32

Vag-Sabotage. Doesn't sound like she was very nice here but if she's good in other ways I'd forgive it.

Evergreen17 · 10/07/2016 15:39

That's worse than cockblocking
That is premeditation and lies
Bad!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/07/2016 15:45

she def cockbloked you !!!

this word has been round for years, can be used for either sex

even if she did say no you werent interested, when she checked with you she should have said she told him no, said sorry, then gave your number

minge singed is a new one on me !!! Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/07/2016 15:46

ffs cockblocked !!!!

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 10/07/2016 15:55

cockblocking is not always bad!

DD and I went to London a couple of years ago, she sat to watch some young gentlemen performing outside the National Gallery, and I sloped off to take some photos....one of the gents was making quite the nuisance of himself when I got back

I suggested he get back to his one handed handstands and showing off to the crowd instead of my precious and unimpressed child

"thanks for the cockblock, Ma!" she said

and that's how I know the term.

MilesHuntsWig · 10/07/2016 23:08

Ha ha ha. I am now wondering how long before my 4yo DD is thanking me for a cockblock Shock

whatamockerywemake · 11/07/2016 01:15

LOVE how he found you anyway. Enjoy your date (and don't forget to come back and update us!) x x x

Fieryfighter · 26/11/2016 12:52

Grrrrr just read the whole thread to find it's from JULY!!! Angry

BewtySkoolDropowt · 26/11/2016 12:55

Now this has popped up again in hoping the op comes and updates us

lola111 · 26/11/2016 13:08

cockblocking is quite ;literally the most vulgar, coarse, cringey word I have ever heard.
Honestly OP do yourself a favour and never use it again if you don't want to be judged as an extra from 'shameless'.

Groovee · 26/11/2016 13:12

Arrghh it's from July. Op you need to update us!

Crunchymum · 26/11/2016 13:13

You obviously didn't read about cuntblocking then lola Shock

Mynestisfullofempty · 26/11/2016 13:17

What were you looking for when you found this thread from July OnlyHereForTheCamping?

FreddoFrog · 26/11/2016 13:24

Haha - round here the DC are regularly accused of cockblocking (not in their earshot!) -eg when one of them wants to sleep in our bed.

Saw this is a revived Zombie thread. Do hope the OP is around to give us an update!

M0stlyHet · 26/11/2016 13:27

ZOMBIE ZOMBIE ZOMBIE!!!

And you bumped this why, Onlyhere? Are you a daily fail journo looking for copy?

cheweduprope · 26/11/2016 13:44

I'm really surprised that so many people haven't heard of the word cockblocking! I thought it was pretty commonly used! Must be a regional thing. (I'm from SE)
