Met a guy at the weekend whilst out with my mate. Didn't manage to change numbers, no worries it happens.

The next day she sent me a picture message of a message he had sent her on FB asking for my number (they have a mutual friend). She asked me if I wanted to give it to him and I said yes. A week passed and no fact, she even asked me twice if he had text.

Anyway I've just had a message from him on FB (not sure how as my FB is totally locked down, with my first name and middle name). He said he knows I didn't want to give him my number but wanted to message just in case I changed my mind.

I messaged back and said oh I told X to give it to you. He sent me a screenshot of their convo where she said oh I don't think she's up for it sorry!

She totally just cockblocked me didn't she?

I had a mate like this - any bloke I said I fancied, she would go after him hell for leather. It became really tedious and I had to start employing diversionary tactics - telling her that I fancied man A and then sneaking off to flirt with man B whilst she hair-tossed and laughed at man A. All rather dull and she is now an ex-friend.

If this woman is really a great friend in all other respects, I would keep her firmly in the coffee/dinner out box and get someone else to be your wing-woman on nights out where potential men are in the offing.

Could a slightly kinder explanation be that she cockblocked you, not because she's jealous, but because she has had her self esteem destroyed by being with a sexually abusive (handsy i assume means groping?) husband. She equates self worth with sexual attractiveness, like we're trained to in this society, husband gives her the message she is worthless by groping other women. She tries to repair her self worth by flirting with other men to get their approval and, therefore, it's a very cruel blow when a man messages her simply to get in contact with her friend.
Doesn't mean she should cock block her 'sister' but i do feel a bit sorry for her.
