to think Nicola Sturgeon should be tried for treason?

anAlienInUK · 25/06/2016 20:58

For continuing attempts to break up the UK?

Admittedly I don't know the law regarding treason exactly, but suspect she hasn't actually done anything illegal? But why is it ok to try to continuously break the country apart?

(Have namechanged as am expecting to get slaughtered)

Nicola Sturgeon is first minister of Scotland. She doesn't need to go on a power trip. She's already the most powerful person in Scotland.

Love it. Grin

A UK politician met with representatives of a foreign government to make a deal. If that government would intervene in a campaign and help the politician's party win a vote they would grant that country various favours.

When I first heard this I assumed it was about Ruth Davidson meeting secretly with Spanish government officers (which she did). After which it was found Spanish fishing vessels were being allowed to dodge finish restriction in Scottish water by multiple registrations for the same boats.
No it was before the 2015 Election. It was the Tories and it was also the Spanish. What were they offered this time and did they now have a working relationship with Ruth Davidson?

That may classify as treason ? Don't hear any of you complaining.

2moreminutes · 25/06/2016 21:35

I said she reminded me of a midge and 'MN deleted my post. Too funny.

Good ole Angela Sturgeon. What a gem. Hmm

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 25/06/2016 21:36

You really can't cure stupid

anAlienInUK · 25/06/2016 21:36

I'm actually firmly in the remain camp, but i don't believe that we should immediately follow one fuck up with another

Can't stand the woman! Yes! Lets do it!

ReallyTired · 25/06/2016 21:38

Nicola has the rights to her opinons as much as anyone. I don't care either way whether the scots choose to be independent. I hope we can have a free trade and movement of people agreement with the scots.

Northern Ireland is a tougher issue. No one wants rewake the troubles.

Didactylos · 25/06/2016 21:39

well she might be on a power trip

of course Farrage and BJ with the bad hair are individuals of the utmost integrity who would never create chaos in pursuit of their own careers and the idea of being the saviours of 'dear old blighty' from the menace of political cooperation and workers rights....

Edmund, too good!

2moreminutes · 25/06/2016 21:39

I think she's Scotland's version of Donald Trump.
She's going to sell Scotland up th he swanee..
Without a . Paddle.

She will be Scotland's downfall.

The woman's a loose Canon.

I don't have Twitter! Though feel free to if you do, very glad to make anyone crack a grin after the last couple of days Smile.

I'll only say, I didn't mean all English people in my first post. I'm going to marry one, I know they're not all bad Wink.

HostaFireandIce · 25/06/2016 21:41

Sure it is OP
In a fairly similar way the EU is 'a country'

I'm not agreeing with the treason thing, but the United Kingdom is a country, and the EU has never even pretended to be one.

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 25/06/2016 21:42

I think the only sensible option is for Scotland to invade us. That way, we can be governed by Holyrood for a few hundred years until we get devolution.

The Queen will find it perfectly acceptable as she will be able to live at Balmoral full time. Grin

Lweji · 25/06/2016 21:42

I think that NS is on a power trip, trying to go down in history as the person that frees Scotland.

She is the leader of the Scottish National Party, in case you haven't noticed.
One of their main aims is independence for Scotland. You might want to read their Vision

"The SNP is committed to making Scotland the nation we know it can be. Our vision is of a prosperous country where everyone gets the chance to fulfil their potential. We want a fair society where no-one is left behind. And our vision is of Scotland as an independent country - equal to the very best."

She was voted as First Minister by the Scottish people.

That is saying something, don't you think?

Treason?

Well I am a Scot and a Brit and a European and Nicola does not speak for me and I find her and Salmond offensive. She prattles on about accepting the democratic will of the people and has been demanding a second referendum since a day after the first one went against her. Nicola should respect democracy.

ChipStix · 25/06/2016 21:50

Ha ha ha

Grin

Yeah right Hmm

hidingwithwine · 25/06/2016 21:50

She doesn't speak for me, my DH or any of my family either but she does so love her "Scotland says/thinks/feels..." statements, as if the entire nation is brainwashed she fucking wishes 😈

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 25/06/2016 21:52

She has not been demanding a second referendum. That is simply not true.

She may want one when she is sure she will win but to say she's been demanding a second referendum since the last one is not accurate.

awaynboilyurheid · 25/06/2016 21:53

Wee nippy ( her new nickname in Scotland because she looks like she is eating a nippy sweetie ) is definitely on a power trip unfortunately Cameron played into her hands. The SNP would have to stay in Europe as they need someone to blame if Westminsters out the equation, it then distracts from the fact that their policies are not working. I would love Nicola to spend a night in A and E in the the centralised super hospital in Glasgow after they closed all the other casualty depts after quite a few hours on a hard chair she would see centralisation is not working.

timeandtide · 25/06/2016 21:53

To quote mark Blyth, political economist professor at Brown University (and a Scot himself)

"Scotland is going to give up an austerity chancellor like George Osborne for who? Dr Schauble? Your Scottish welfare state system is going to be really well protected by the tender embrace of the Germans. How is that working out for the Greeks?"

Nicola Sturgeon can fuck right off.

StickTheDMWhereTheSunDontShine · 25/06/2016 21:55

Oh don't be so fucking stupid.

OOAOML · 25/06/2016 21:56

I was a No voter in 2014, a Remain voter this week and really can't face another referendum - but you're being ridiculous. I don't know if she will go ahead with it (there would be a lot of problems, a lot of questions raised last time about the economy would be likely to be worse, but she might get it on an emotional vote), but she's exploring options. At least she's planning, and has been doing contingency planning - the Leave campaign and the Tory Government seem completely shocked they now have to come up with a plan following a vote that was always going to be one of two options.

mouldycheesefan · 25/06/2016 21:57

I would like her to be prime minister of the whole country. And I live at the opposite end of uk to Scotland. NIc for PM!
