Not only has My husband bought me a nice present and flowers, we are going out with the kids to a restaurant with a children's play area. AIBU to think it would be lovely for Mumsnetters to fill Mumsnet with a bit of happiness today.

Congrats OP and best wishes to everyone else.
My birthday today, I got a digital radio and nibbles; dh has done lunch, made birthday cake with dd1 and will be making dinner. Having a lovely, relaxing day.

TheWoollybacksWife · 25/06/2016 16:02

Oh that's gorgeous fading

Congratulations to everyone who has things to celebrate. Fos you will be grand.

DD1 passed her post grad, DD2 has taken herself off to uni open days and enjoyed them (she has dreadful social anxiety) and DS has passed his karate grading.

Nachos, fajitas and champagne for dinner tonight Wine

Lovely idea op! Just what's needed.

I smashed my pb at parkrun by 3 minutes and 40 seconds which made me very very happy!

donkir · 25/06/2016 16:20

I've been home alone with poorly baby so OH said he's getting Chinese on the way home from work. Yummy

This is a lovely thread

I drove 250 miles after work yesterday to surprise DH with a visit as he's working away and the trip has been extended with very little notice

Today he is falling over himself with excitement about it and bringing me food Grin

Happy Anniversary OP

Very lovely thread Smile

I'm on a little holiday with DP in London, enjoyed a nice walk through the park and have got some cake for pudding later.

Having a picnic tea and watching a film later, lots of relaxing before I start my new job in two weeks Shock

SapphireStrange · 25/06/2016 17:31

Welcome to London, lurky! Hope you're having a great weekend.

Lovely thread! Happy Anniversary and great to hear all the happy things people are achieving.
Mine's a lovely lie in, successful shopping trip with my DD and nice couple of glasses of wine now with DH.
Happy weekend to you all x

Today I mended my Kindle all by myself. Grin
I ordered a new battery and a special screwdriver and it was dead easy.

My once very shy daughter has a bunch of friends over for a party and sleepover. She is sweet, lovely and confident, they all adore her - she was miserable at her old school but is so happy since she went to secondary. So proud of everything she has achieved this year.

Its very noisy though so I'm hiding upstairs Grin

Gwenci · 25/06/2016 18:05

I've had a tough couple of weeks with my two very young DC and was feeling really down this morning.

DH booked me a surprise last minute massage appointment for this afternoon then sent me off in to town two hours early to read my book, have a cup of coffee and a slice of cake in child-free peace beforehand. He's a star!

tibbawyrots · 25/06/2016 18:06

hellswelshy · 25/06/2016 18:08

Nice thread! Congratulations op! I ran through a heavy summer shower laughing hysterically with my dds earlier, felt young! Friends are coming later for wine and chat Smile

This is a lovely thread. :)

I took my 2yo DD for her swimming lesson for the first time in months (gave birth to no 2, then had surgery and epic dressing for a whiles been watching other people take her (mixed results and often tears) or having her miss out completely). We were both giddy and she was belly laughing as she 'chased me' round the pool wearing her little arm bands bellowing 'Mummy cuddle! Mummy cuddle!' Every time we got to the side she 'caught me' and flung herself into my arms. I've been beaming all afternoon, it really made my day.

Congratulations to everyone who's celebrating something today. And thanks OP for this. It's fab.

Shirkingfromhome · 25/06/2016 19:45

Both kids are on their way to sleep so did and I will watch Glastonbury highlights with a nice cold beer. It's the simple things Grin

I've been wedding dress shopping today. Didn't find "the one" but had a lovely time trying on beautiful dresses and feeling a bit like a princess Blush
