To be disgusted by MN!

Some people need to give their head a wobble and honestly grow the fuck up and stop throwing their toys out the pram.

I understand people are upset and even angry the way the referendum went, however that does not give anyone the right to be vile and abusive!

It's completely unacceptable to tell someone they need "opt out of life" Angry because they choose there democratic right not to vote!

I am ashamed to be apart of this forum today!

MN admin shoud be ashamed of themselves, talk guidelines being broken left right and centre and you're no where to be seen!

Grow the fuck up and stop being unpleasant nasty fuckers! I very rarely swear but this place sickens me to the core of my stomach today!

MN is fule of hateful poison most days. It shouldn't be a surprise that it intensifies after something like this.

ExcuseMyEyebrows · 25/06/2016 08:53

Well said Viking

Yes, the ageist thread should have been deleted - if the OP and others had been spotting their bile about muslims/disabled people/black people it would have been zapped immediately.

I've been on MN for 7 years now and have never been so disgusted

MsJamieFraser · 25/06/2016 08:54

There was always going to be ignorance, both sides could find a better answer, it was either leave it as it is, while Britain declined, or propose change with never definite answers! Change was absolutely needed however I don't agree this is the correct way, however I'm from a miners family, we were broke poor and I've done my damned hardest to make sure my children don't go through the same... Only I cannot now guarantee this.

The person I am angry with is Cameron the pathetic little man he is, he used the referendum to gain votes in being elected, and then when it didn't go his way he ran like the rat he Is! I don't blame him, a man to his word, but he caused all this uproar!

...as I have been by these threads.

Oh look, another GF thread that aims to stir up exactly what the op claims to despise. Like there weren't enough similar threads on this subject.

People are angry, and with good reason judging by the many headlines that keep coming about Britain's England and Wales's economies and likely future. I have friends who have no idea if they'll be sent 'home' (despite having called here home for years and years). I have friends and family who are fearful for their jobs because they work for EU member companies. All of this worry and uncertainty about theirs and their children's future because half the population believed the lies from the Leave campaign.

But you just worry about people calling you a few names while millions consider the ramifications of your decision on their entire lives.

You're welcome, quite frankly.

fourmummy · 25/06/2016 09:02

Illiterate, naive, xenophobic, stupid, thick, the list goes on. That's sneering, because if you think that you did use arguments, rhetoric and debate to change people's perspectives and these did not work, you immediately assume that it's the people's stupidity or xenophobia that are to blame for this and not the fact that your arguments, rhetoric and debate might be weak.

Helmetbymidnight · 25/06/2016 09:08

I still don't get the anguish.

You won!

The illiterate, the naive, the xenophobic, the stupid, the thick, (you forgot the elderly, the protest voters, the ones who didn't think it would happen, the ones who did what their hubby told them, the ones who wanted to see what would happen) you all got exactly what you all wanted. Enjoy yourselves. This is the dawn of a great new age apparently, free from the shackles of the EU!

Party time for you guys! Why are you whinging about the whingers?! Be magnanimous in your victory.

WeekendAway · 25/06/2016 09:10

'Most people who voted to leave, I have to say, are generally too stupid to understand the catastrophic consequences of their actions. So they just try to minimise.'

This from kittybiscuits on another thread.

Lweji · 25/06/2016 09:11

your arguments, rhetoric and debate might be weak.

Or you might be falling for the same type of crap that a minority fell for in Germany a few decades ago.
58% voted remain, so the arguments for staying weren't that weak.

Mrskeats · 25/06/2016 09:11

You can't get away from the fact that people who aren't very bright have massively damaged this country
Witnessed people at the airport asking at money exchange why they got less euros?
Are you fucking serious?
People are very angry

Lweji · 25/06/2016 09:13

You can't get away from the fact that people who aren't very bright have massively damaged this country

And sadly, they will probably end up being the most affected. Sad

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 25/06/2016 09:13

Ye sand what about the man on channel 4 news video saying goes he voted to leave EU to stop Muslims coming in from Syria and Iraq but free movement in Europe is fine.

Obviously not thick or racist then.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 25/06/2016 09:13

Saying, not saying goes

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 25/06/2016 09:14

Not illiterate..have got new tablet.

UptheAnty · 25/06/2016 09:14

3-4 years from now, if the politicians dont start representing the poorer parts of the country effectively and addressing their very real concerns, I have a fear that a new far right party will emerge and do major damage to this country.

^^
This^^

People need to stop shutting down any intelligent conversations with calls of 'Racist- xenophobe'.
You keep pushing people's concerns under the carpet because maybe you don't see it- or live it or understand it. Maybe even believe it.
But for some it's their reality.
When the forgotten, marginalised and voiceless are ignored that's when people like the far right move in and feed off the desperation.
Why do you think trump is where he is?

You're concerned about your future & your docs future. So are all those mentioned above.

Hate whipped up against foreigners, plus massive financial crisis, demagogue leaders - of course its a breeding ground for fascism.

This is what the leavers have chosen. But some of them don't seem to understand it yet.

I said this on another thread, my school mum friend got shouted at in the street yesterday, "We'll get you out next..."

NeedACleverNN · 25/06/2016 09:19

I think the biggest fear is the uncertainty which is an obvious fear but the reactions of some people are OTT and there have been some trust vile posts.

Why do people keep saying the OP did vote. She said actually she did but because one person claimed she didn't it's now,in fact, a fact she didn't Hmm

I can't help but worry that with the inevitable downturn of the economy in the coming years the remain camp will be blamed for trying to fuck up the country because they didn't get their way. I've already seen a couple posts on MN to that effect. Sadly we will be told it's our fault for not pulling our boots up and pitching in to help even if we do. David Cameron will be blamed for abandoning the country at such an important time when he was ALWAYS going to go if he lost the argument (and the leave tories only asked him to stay when all signs pointed to remain winning).

I've never wanted to be wrong about something more. I would love for this experiment to somehow turn out alright, I just can't see how things will improve and no argument I've heard from 'leave' has given me any actual hope.

Helmetbymidnight · 25/06/2016 09:24

I hope we're wrong. I'll eat humble pie.

There will be no fucking pies! ;)

Floppityflop · 25/06/2016 09:26

I think these reactions are understandable, particularly now we know that lies were told in the campaign. Well, politicians in lying shocker... I feel that the Brexiters have only hurt themselves and others. The EU migrants have a way out and we don't. They will leave the UK along with a load of jobs. It didn't sink in until yesterday morning what the reality of this is for me. I will now have to give up my chance of having children so that I can study for a difficult exam in a different country in a language that isn't my mother tongue. Unlike some people I don't have the option of applying for a second passport either. Unless I take steps to improve my life chances like this exam I will end up on the scrapheap at the age of 40. At least I have the option of doing that; many people will not. Of course I am angry with the older generation, including my parents, as they are sitting pretty with final salary pensions and equity in their house.
