To be disgusted by MN!

Some people need to give their head a wobble and honestly grow the fuck up and stop throwing their toys out the pram.

I understand people are upset and even angry the way the referendum went, however that does not give anyone the right to be vile and abusive!

It's completely unacceptable to tell someone they need "opt out of life" Angry because they choose there democratic right not to vote!

I am ashamed to be apart of this forum today!

MN admin shoud be ashamed of themselves, talk guidelines being broken left right and centre and you're no where to be seen!

Grow the fuck up and stop being unpleasant nasty fuckers! I very rarely swear but this place sickens me to the core of my stomach today!

It was the same here after the General Election with Tory voters abused for daring to vote Conservative.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 25/06/2016 07:50

And Tory voters sneering and boasting about the result to people who were genuinely upset.

Don't log on if the threads piss you off and disgust you, MNHQ failed , how?Hmm.

MsJamieFraser · 25/06/2016 07:53

Fanjo my sister lost her job yesterday with immediate effect, she's currently in Cyprus on holiday and her husband, he also got his redundancy notice via email. (However this was expected)

They are not being abusive or vile to anyone, they are trying to put a face on for there children.

OP posts:
practy · 25/06/2016 07:54

Abuse is not okay. But some people know they will lose their jobs because of this vote.

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp · 25/06/2016 07:54

mrs I agree.... Nasty

GipsyDanger · 25/06/2016 07:55

I didn't vote because my vote doesn't matter (I'm in Scotland) if my whole country voted stay and the rest of the U.K. Voted leave, we would be pulled out against our will............oh wait that did happen Shock
Hence the non vote, I am disillusioned by the whole process.

Sparklingbrook · 25/06/2016 07:55

Hide the threads that you perceive as vile, you dont have to read them. Or have a break from MN while every thread is about the vote.

NotYoda · 25/06/2016 07:56

keyboard warrior

Lweji · 25/06/2016 07:56

MNHQ in the best days are slow policing the threads. And that's when people report them or specific posts. I imagine they were swamped yesterday.

IME here there's a range of pps. Some still use * when swearing. Others tend to post offensively.
I do think yesterday was a very emotionally charged day and it will calm down.

However, in this whole thing, I do despair of people who didn't mean it. If you do something at least stand by your convictions.

Lweji · 25/06/2016 07:57

I didn't vote because my vote doesn't matter (I'm in Scotland)

FGS, every vote counted on this. Sigh!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 25/06/2016 08:04

Sniping goader

MsJamieFraser · 25/06/2016 08:05

I'm Scottish, however live in England, (no longer a Scottish citizen) and every vote does count, even a spoilt vote, however it is your right not to vote.

I was trying to give my mum facts to both sides, however she does not have the mental understanding, (major mental health issues) so she also did not vote, not because she did not want to however.

The majority of my family is in Scotland. I think they voted to remain. They are understandably fearful for their children's future, but no abuse. Just fearful.

Lizzylou · 25/06/2016 08:07

You didn't vote? Worried about it being a waste?
It's hardly an onerous task is it?
Shock

ChipStix · 25/06/2016 08:12

This has very serious financial repercussions for everyone. Serious. Mortgage rates will rise, inflation will rise, people will lose jobs.

we will ALL pay for this and what's terrifying is that I have not seen one coherent economic argument fur Brexit. Not one.

So I can understand people being abusive because with one knee-jerk vote, led by a bunch of far right wing used car salesmen pandering to people's worst prejudices, we are set to pay and pay to big business with fewer employment rights, restricted movement across Europe and higher transportation costs. Russia and China are going to love this.

So yes people have a right to be furious. Brexit will have a deep negative effect on many lives and the lives of our children.

Helmetbymidnight · 25/06/2016 08:14

Gipsy, Err what?!!

What we have is people, who don't really understand either politics or economy, have made a decision that will have a massive negative impact on all of us, and then are looking around in surprise going 'ooh why you so annoyed? it's no big deal, is it?'

anyoldname76 · 25/06/2016 08:15

i agree with you msjamiefraser, i saw the opt out of life comment too, i thought it was totally digusting. the aggressive and abusive comments from some people on here have really shaken me.
im coming off mumsnet until all this dies down, no doubt ill get some passive aggressive comments about not rushing back etc

SoupDragon · 25/06/2016 08:17

there is absolutely no reason to be vile and abusive

Which is ironic given you called people "unpleasant nasty fuckers"

However, I'm not saying the more unpleasant comments on other threads are acceptable.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 25/06/2016 08:17

The opt out of life comment was taken to totally wrongly. The poster explained and apologised and had asked for it to be deleted. There were no hard feelings on thread.

Again

SoupDragon · 25/06/2016 08:17

i saw the opt out of life comment too, i thought it was totally digusting.

Did you also see the apology and explanation? I am guessing not.

I've hid the threads that I needed to his, the passive aggressive comments are pointless, it just makes them look like a fool and says more about them than it does us.

I love MN, when my ds had his accident the support I received here was second to none, and I have what I now consider good friends.bthe only reason I bring this up is beaches ds2 had his accident 6 years ago yesterday, and in all that time this is the worst I have seen MN. Sad

MN is always full of feisty threads and name calling after major events.

Did you not come on here after the Tories won the election?
