The Health and Social Care Act to privatise the NHS was passed in 2012 by the ConDem coalition, after Labour had been making moves towards something similar for years.
Particularly around the centenary of the welfare state in 2011 there was speech after speech by politicians of the main parties about their intention to trash the NHS.
And then the current government slashed social care, which is not so much the straw as the hay stack that broke the camel's back.
And yet here we are, blaming staying in / leaving the EU for the collapse of the NHS which we're already living through.
Whatever the referendum result, the collapse will continue. But now whichever side loses, they'll blame the EU or each other.
Great for the British politicians responsible for the collapse, playing "Look over there." Pretty shit if we don't want a nation full of hate and scapegoating, as well as pretty shit that we're losing a functioning NHS.
