to think I win the award for most pathetic fall out ever between 2 people?

It's my cousin. She lives around half an hour from me so dont see each other all the time but chat through facebook now and then. Th reason she hasn't spoken to me/tagged me in anything/text me back has today become apparent because of me speaking to my aunt (her mum).

Are you all on the edge of your seat yet.... well apparently the reason she is pissed off with me is because I didn't like her pictures of a recent night out.

Thats it.

I hardly go on facebook, when I do it's to delete the numerous things of crap she has tagged me in, I dont post pics of ds or share my musings or let people know what I'm having for my tea. I was told that I should have liked her pictures as she's feeling down and it would have boosted her confidence.

Sorry to start this thread but I'm completely baffled that my 34 yr old cousin responsible for 2 children can get so worked up over something so ridiculous. She has today shared one of my pictures from a night out a few years ago at a family party and tagged everyone except me, even dp gets a mention. Im shocked but also I havent stopped laughing.

Do I win some kind of award for being involved in a ridiculous fall out that I wasn't even aware of?

I'd make sure not to "fall in" with that cousin again. She's not likely to change and you can probably do without the silliness.

JedRambosteen · 19/06/2016 17:30

Threads like this always remind me how glad I am I sat out the headlong rush to join FB. I'm probably going to have to open one soon because its how parents at the high school DS1 is joining share info & keep in touch. I must ask my FB-loving friend whether there is a "glowering misanthrope" setting I can use to signal I'm joining under sufferance and won't be liking posts or friending people unless it is an absolute bloody necessity.

Buddahbelly · 19/06/2016 17:33

jed same here, the only reason I use it is because ds's nursery send all info through a group email on their facebook page to parents, otherwise I've missed things when just checking emails. Im hidden in the chat bit so nobody knows i'm online unless I comment on it, but yes totally agree I hate facebook and how it makes people feel.

How many friends does she have on Facebook?

Does she have a spreadsheet of how long it's been since each one of them liked something she posted?

Trills · 19/06/2016 17:41

Sarah you have not liked anything I have posted for at least 5 days - you are on an Amber warning.

Rachel you liked something 4 days ago, that's not too bad, but I tagged you in a picture of a rainbow with a motivational slogan yesterday and you have not yet liked it so I am keeping an eye on you.

Teresa you have liked things on 3 separate days this week - keep it up and I may promote you to my Best Friend.

SlimCheesy2 · 19/06/2016 17:44

I have a fb friend who is a bit like this. If I can be bothered I do 'like' things. I usually think 'Here's your validation' when I press 'like' though.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 19/06/2016 17:44

Yep. You win. She sounds like hard work.
I nearly fell out with my friend over wether 12 was the same as a dozen.
We nearly came to blows. In the end I just said. Look this is not important, and we just laughed.
We were only 14 though, not 114 like your cousin. Grin

Trills · 19/06/2016 17:47

What did your friend think a dozen was?

Buddahbelly · 19/06/2016 17:51

Grin at amber warning. That's what it feels like now, so ridiculous.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 19/06/2016 17:55

She thought well was adamant it was 6.

Buddahbelly · 19/06/2016 17:57

yes I do that slim Just think when I press Like oh for god's sake give it a rest.

All the status's get on my nerves "Making memories with my 2 beautiful children", err no, you just took them the park, get over it, but here's a Like to keep you happy as it obviously means so much to you!

If it's not making memories it's Feeling stressed, Feeling happy, Feeling relaxed..... Does anyone care? She has quite a few people on her facebook so I've no idea how she would even know I hadnt liked something unless she actively went through it all. Now I know she does that I find it even more sadder to be honest.

I usually think 'Here's your validation' when I press 'like' though.

I will think this forevermore on FB now Grin

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 19/06/2016 17:59

Not being on FB makes me happy every day. Grin

Queenbean · 19/06/2016 18:00

Btw, you can set a review of anything you're tagged in. It means that you see it all before it goes on your page.

I do it to avoid getting tagged in minion crap, "you'll never believe what happened next!" And terrible photos

Coffeethrowtrampbitch · 19/06/2016 18:04

What a total child your cousin is!

I'd be tempted to have fun with it though, post lots of vague statuses about betrayal and some people never being there for you no matter how often you like their memes.

Keep going until at last you get a 'what's up hun?', from someone, then eventually have it dragged out of you, and say you are sick of drama queens Grin

Buddahbelly · 19/06/2016 18:06

queenbean Yes I have the review anything you'e tagged in set, so when I log on which is maybe twice a week up pop at least 20 notifications usually of various silly things she has tagged me in and I have to click delete or add to timeline. I've never once clicked add to timeline for anything she has tagged me in.

Ill admit to being a Little upset at the family party picture this morning, not 1 family member has commented on why I'm not tagged in it. So now i'm not talking to all them Smile

Grin you definitely win! What a fruit loop.

Buddahbelly · 19/06/2016 18:07

Or Coffee Ill inbox you hun Grin. Always love a mysterious quote about betrayal with lots of what's up hun messages only to find after all the owner of betrayal pic has suddenly decided to go private after all!

Some one once fell out with me for something similar. And they defriended me.

I didn't know until 18 months later when they requested me again and announced they didn't want to hold a grudge against me.

I just thought I hadn't seen them around for a while Blush

Buddahbelly · 19/06/2016 18:10

bran Shock That is funny though. Did you re-add them? I'm tempted to block Cousin or at the very least block her from seeing anything I post, which would boringly be a like for a funny animal picture now and then.

Sallystyle · 19/06/2016 18:13

I thought falling out with my best friend over a camping stove was pathetic.

You win Grin

FlyingElbows · 19/06/2016 18:58

It's beyond daft but I do feel a teeny bit sorry for her. Her self confidence must really be scraping the floor to react like that. It's still ludicrous though!

branofthemist · 19/06/2016 19:07

That is funny though. Did you re-add them?

it was very funny. No I didn't re add them. Can't be arsed with all that shit. Grin

AgnetaTheViking · 19/06/2016 19:12

Get her to add my mum as her friend then she'll get lots of like for her photos. Hundreds of them. Every single bloody day. Her phone won't stop beeping from all the notifications.

Gide · 19/06/2016 19:14

Bonkers! Love Facebook, it makes me laugh. I keep hiding people on there, no need to have a row, just unfollow her.
