About Jamie Vardy's new wife?

I'm quite prepared to be flamed over this, but I can't be the only one to think that there is something really off about her? She is really milking his new found fame for all it's worth, desperately trying to turn herself into the new Victoria Beckham/Coleen Rooney. First it was the newspaper interviews, then the lingerie shoot, followed by the big OK wedding spread.

Now very conveniently she was caught up in all the trouble between England and Russia fans over the weekend and ended up getting tear gassed. Managing to get her face on the front pages of course, and this morning I woke up to see her being interviewed via satellite on Good Morning Britain about her terrible experience, looking all serious. I thought it was just me, but you could tell from the way he was questioning her that Piers Morgan also thought she was talking complete bollocks.

Now I know she's not the first woman to use her footballing husbands fame to boost her own career prospects but he's apparently estranged from his entire family, parents and grandparents because they dislike her and they didn't attend the wedding. Then you hear that she has form for selling kiss and tell stories going back years, I can't help but think that she's been waiting her whole life for this gravy train to arrive.

Am I just being a massive bitch here?

Since 'be kind' is mainly used to mean women shut up and never stand up to shitty behaviour - I would be really glad if it is now chip wrappers.

Hear hear.

Not remotely interested in this court case but as op said, they must both be haemorrhaging money for this little circus.

I think "nana" as an insult is short for "banana."

One of the funniest Zombie threads I have seen in years.
The trial is pure entertainment, do you think the Sun paid RV to bring the case? How the judge us keeping a straight face is beyond me.

It's a classic!

It’s apparently a sky+ remote.

is this a British unit of measurement now.
like double decker bus and football pitch.

Or 'yay big'.

Gilmorehill · 12/05/2022 10:27

Is there no thread about the case?

Yes, just do a search

All I can say is that I have no idea what you're talking about because gossip like this doesn't interest me. I click on other news items - important stuff like wars, indian fires, the climate emergency, rise of bills, politics, nhs, health, business etc. So to stop this kind of news people have to stop wanting to read and watch all that shite.

why on earth are you on a social site like mumsnet if you are so much better than all of us?

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 12/05/2022 10:40

Pointless pair of women

Pointless pair of women

That's not nice.

Their "jobs" and the case is utterly pointless

They aren't pointless as individuals.

Least people are making a living out of them.

SpindleInTheWind · 12/05/2022 11:31

I'm fascinated by all the lost and broken devices. Is Vardy really going to get away with that, or can the judge make a reasonable inference about it all?

Parsley1234 · 12/05/2022 11:48

Interesting that Vardy hasn’t supported her by going to court

It is all part of building a picture. Most of her evidence is shooting herself in the foot, the rest is extraordinary bad luck at losing devices. Not doing her claim any favours 😂

I think Rebecca’s mother may have bern more worried about her marrying a man who wore a tag fir 6 months after been convicted of assault.

maybe , but i expect the fact her daughter was getting hitched to a wealthy footballer soothed her fears lol

Parsley1234 · 12/05/2022 12:30

No parents on either side went to the wedding WTF

Both Rebekah and Coleen have got more money than sense. I didn't realise until this week that the court case isn't to decide whether Becky did or did not sell stories about Coleen to the press, it's to 'defend their reputations'.

Why is CR getting a hard time here? CR hasn't chosen this, she's being sued for libel by RV and has to defend herself. Or would you suggest she should have rolled over and stumped up a settlement instead? Confused

Er - CR started this with setting RV up and accusing her of selling stories to the press. She absolutely revelled in all the Wagatha Christie stuff and people saying how clever she was, etc. The whole thing is a distasteful mess between two women whose names no one should even know. They're a pair of publicity seekers (although I admit that RV is way worse on that front).

Jamie Vardy’s football season isn’t over yet. Indeed, Leicester played last night so he is no doubt still training/at work. Wayne Rooney’s season finished last week, so he has no other obligations.

IncompleteSenten · 12/05/2022 12:56

Set her up how?

I read on here that someone was leaking stories that were on a private social media thing and that person was found out by being the only one able to view a fake story which then appeared in the press.

Exposed, rather than 'set up' I would say.

Well maybe exposed, although RV has always vehemently denied that she did this and that others had access to her social media accounts. CR did set up whoever did it though by posting fake stories of her own and she then publicly blamed RV, which led to a social media pile-on. The whole thing has been a very public spat between two drama queens with inflated senses of their own importance.

IncompleteSenten · 12/05/2022 13:32

I suppose all she has to do is get whoever wrote the stories to confirm she didn't give them the information and nor did anyone known to be in her employ.

IncompleteSenten · 12/05/2022 13:33

Yes. It is all very playgroundish isn't it?

It is also a very British thing to measure rates of inflation by the cost of a Freddo. 😁

Wasn't me, Guv'nor. The dog ate my homework.

If this had happened at my school, the whole class would have been kept in after break.

BOOTS52 · 12/05/2022 13:50

HaHa at FunkyBlues she is certainly that and more and not a nice person at all. Have they no shame at all in their quest for fame.
