About Jamie Vardy's new wife?

I'm quite prepared to be flamed over this, but I can't be the only one to think that there is something really off about her? She is really milking his new found fame for all it's worth, desperately trying to turn herself into the new Victoria Beckham/Coleen Rooney. First it was the newspaper interviews, then the lingerie shoot, followed by the big OK wedding spread.

Now very conveniently she was caught up in all the trouble between England and Russia fans over the weekend and ended up getting tear gassed. Managing to get her face on the front pages of course, and this morning I woke up to see her being interviewed via satellite on Good Morning Britain about her terrible experience, looking all serious. I thought it was just me, but you could tell from the way he was questioning her that Piers Morgan also thought she was talking complete bollocks.

Now I know she's not the first woman to use her footballing husbands fame to boost her own career prospects but he's apparently estranged from his entire family, parents and grandparents because they dislike her and they didn't attend the wedding. Then you hear that she has form for selling kiss and tell stories going back years, I can't help but think that she's been waiting her whole life for this gravy train to arrive.

Am I just being a massive bitch here?

Interesting that Vardy hasn’t supported her by going to court

Not really, he can hardly miss training to sit around all day. Rooney doesn't have daily football commitments

I suppose all she has to do is get whoever wrote the stories to confirm she didn't give them the information and nor did anyone known to be in her employ.

I assume that isn't happening as journalists don't reveal their sources but there's no way to prove who sent a message to a journalist, that's the whole issue here, no one can prove who read the private stories that were later leaked

Even a message from RV's phone proves nothing.

I must be really naïve because I thought that if a paper was going to publish it, they needed to have proof that it was true. I know they don't name sources but they are surely supposed to verify them and would be able to confirm the person was not so and so. Or give information to a court if ordered to do so as part of a case?

But I honestly know fuck all about how it works, expecting evidence and integrity and shit like that. 🤣

They possibly do have screenshots of the fake stories, if they see that someone has said(posted) something themselves it seems reasonable that they would believe it otherwise how would you ever be able to report anything that someone tells you?

People lie to the press everyday, that doesn't make the press at fault if they report it surely.

IANAL

This is a zombie thread - a journo looking for gossip????????

Hi, I revived the post. I'm neither a journalist nor part of Coleen's defence team. It just came up in a search and I couldn't believe how well this aged, particularly as OP had got some stick at the time. I'm glad others have enjoyed rereading this too. Well done OP!

Tulipomania · 12/05/2022 16:53

Apologies Pomeranian for suggesting that - it was meant tongue in cheek!

Butchyrestingface · 12/05/2022 16:55

Fuck me. Do you have next week’s lotto numbers by any chance, OP?*

*Asking for an acquaintance.

I remember her being on I'm a Celebrity in 2017. She was horrible on that and blamed the editing and being competitive for how she was portrayed. I've disliked her ever since.

Not for the gossip columns.

Entire careers are made and maintained from Z listers dropping "stories" to the gossip columns on what they are doing.

If it is a factual story e.g. about a crime that has been committed or the clothes a female Prime Minister is wearing then sources have to be followed up and checked.

Any Vardy's "proof" is in Davy Jones' locker....

Actually a message on Vardy’s phone saying leak this to Halls is pretty definitive proof. It’s not a criminal trial and there is an established pattern of her conduct.
