AIBU to make DP come home and sort his --our-- dog (kind of light hearted)

Kind of light hearted but part of me isn't either

Me and DP have a puppy that we got together but when she's done something naughty she's his dog DP has just gone off to work I've got me and DD bathed and on the sofa with some junk and a DVD just let puppy out for a wee she comes back in covered in shit because she's decided to roll in her own mess ShockShock this is one of them times she isn't mine

So how U would I be to ring DP tell him he needs to sort his dog out because I can't deal with this today

Light hearted - yeah. He should be there full time for the puppy.

Sensible dog-trainer hat on - YABU to expect a puppy to go out, unsupervised to eliminate AND not do anything disgusting whilst out there. Had you supervised, wouldn't have happened.

Exactly Costa the puppy was in the garden that's completely safe and was alone for a few minutes, maybe I am such a terrible owner for not watching her every move in the safe big gardenHmm

My dog did this once as a pup. Dh tried to throw a bucket of water over her to get rid of most of the smell before I bathed her and she managed to miss every drop of water.
Had to carry her in at arms length and Bath her twice as she reeked that much.

My mother is a dog trainer and her dogs still manage to eat horse shit and roll in dead rabbit almost every walk she goes on. Lurchers are immune to training if they don't want to do something

Yes she's a pup and playful and I wasn't annoyed about that, the fact she was out the a few minutes and come bouncing in covered in her own mess. The first time she's done this so I won't be watching her every move

Deep breath and chuck her in the shower with liberal amounts if either dog shampoo or baby shampoo (one off won't hurt her its very mild) while you explain to her what a minging little shit she is. I guarantee she will wag her tail and your heart will melt and all will be forgiven until next time Grin

Am I the only person who doesn't stand guard and watch there dog in a secure garden Costa? I don't think so she's not a tiny pup but she's still a puppy but doesn't need me watching her every move

She loves the bath I gave her a good clean then spent ages trying to dry her because it's the best game ever to try and play tug with the towel Grin

If there's a possibility she'll do something she shouldn't, then yes, watch her. How long does it take, 5 minutes? Is that too much inconvenience?

I don't watch my dog in the garden either but she's 10. When she was a puppy I would just to make sure she went. However even under supervision she managed to dig a lot of holes. Even on the lead she still rubs her neck in horse shit. Lovely

If there was a possibly she could hurt herself then of course I would watch her and she wouldn't be in the garden alone but I make sure it's face a secure and I'm fairly confident she can't hurt herself the worse she can do is roll in her own mess which is just pain to wash and dry her thick coat
