I'm fully prepared to be told that I am VU/a snob/a fucking cunting bastard etc.

Fully prepared.

But more and more and more since the recent DM shite I've noticed 'hun'ing creeping into over half the threads I click on.

It makes my teeth itch. I always want to say something but I don't want to be that arsehole.

I don't know why it annoys me. I'm not a snob so it's not that. It's just so bloody twee.

Micsoda?

That's me writing as a HUNgarian

gets coat

MoltoIncazzata · 07/06/2016 22:18

I think we need to step in sharpish whenever Hun, lol or X is used

I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately if you do challenge it on a thread you get pounced on by the 'I'm putting you on my spreadsheet' contingent and from then on you're a snobby nit-picky elitist cunt.

Maybe that's not such a bad thing Grin

Creatureofthenight · 07/06/2016 22:18

I don't mind nomnomnom, makes me think of Cookie Monster, which is an enjoyable thought to have.

MadamSecretary - are these the same people who refer to their holidays as 'hollibobs'?

Madamsecretary · 07/06/2016 22:20

Yes Molto! Yes they are!

Argh!

KoalaDownUnder · 07/06/2016 22:20

My latest pet hate is 'LO' for 'little one'.

Except that it's not even, it's usually written 'lo', so that the sentence reads (in my head) as 'I was in Costa with my low yesterday'. Confused

Wtf is wrong with 'baby' or 'toddler'? How the fuck old is a 'little one', anyway?

So many questions.

Lovewineandchocs · 07/06/2016 22:23

People in MLMs say "hun" a lot-enough said Grin

KoalaDownUnder · 07/06/2016 22:23

Plus, it usually precipitates a rash of 'Aww, hun, how old is your lo?' within the first few posts.

Hmm
RaskolnikovsGarret · 07/06/2016 22:24

Yes, LO should be banned too.

And I have never met anyone in real life who says luffs and holibobs. I am really hoping they are confined to my screen.

beetroot2 · 07/06/2016 22:25

It pisses me off no end too, especially when its typed from a man on an internet dating site. However, I don't mind treacle or princess. The first one makes me laugh and the second one I of course am Grin

glasgowlass · 07/06/2016 22:28

likedylan

You just proved my point. "ratbag fans". Really? I'm a rangers supporter and I'm most definitely not a rat bag thank you!
This is what I was saying re 'Hun' being a derogatory term. Then again you do come across as a sectarian bigot. Thanks for nicely proving my point.

SilverBirchWithout · 07/06/2016 22:28

I also think this fake fuckery of Hun, Lovely, xx is indicative of a very shallow and faux way of expressing caring and support on certain emotional threads.

There appeared to be a lot of it on the thread that was deleted recently from the group that self-identified as 'Oliver's Army' [vomit]. There does seem to be a type of poster who thrives on fake emotion and concern and that is why they are here on MN; Hun is a great signal to help identify them.

Queenbean · 07/06/2016 22:30

Can we add people who add "D" in front of everything too?

AIBU to think that dstbxh shouldn't take out ddog2 with dexmil?

ollieplimsoles · 07/06/2016 22:32

I cant stand 'bub' 'bubba' and especially 'bubz'

Urgh..

KoalaDownUnder · 07/06/2016 22:33

I don't think I want to know what Oliver's Army is...Hmm (Or DO I??)

Bonywasawarriorwayayix · 07/06/2016 22:34

LO is annoying. It sounds so twee and yuck. I'm tempted to correct the next one I see but I'm far too polite and British even on here .

MoltoIncazzata · 07/06/2016 22:35

Oh God yes! Yes to the ubiquitous "D" before everything. It's not your DDog for the love of mercy. It's just your fucking DOG. Grin

umbongo that made me chuckle.

'Hollibobs' brings me out in hives. See also 'wine o'clock'. I blame reality television.

littledrummergirl · 07/06/2016 22:41

I think Mn should add these to the abbreviation list.
Huns-horrid, ugly, narcissistic slimeball
LO-last one night stand

Grin That might stop the ridiculous twee comments.
WellErrr · 07/06/2016 22:45

I don't think I want to know what Oliver's Army is...hmm (Or DO I??)

Koala - you do not.

Unfortunately if you do challenge it on a thread you get pounced on by the 'I'm putting you on my spreadsheet' contingent and from then on you're a snobby nit-picky elitist cunt.

Bah I couldn't give a shit. I'm thinking of just quietly linking to this thread every time I see a hunner.

maxeffort0satisfaction · 07/06/2016 23:13

aww hun take a chill pill. LOL xxx.
How's LO hun, hubby ok? ta hun xxx

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 07/06/2016 23:14

Oh piss off. When did Rangers fans become a religious group? It refers to a group of football fans with a well deserved reputation for violence and disorder, rather than a generalised term of abuse for a Protestant.
