This is the letter left on DP's van yesterday. We live at 215, attached to 213, then there's a road and then 211 where note writer lives.

I'm having to sit on my hands so I don't write a response. AIBU to think this is a bit passive aggressive or AIBU to park van there?

[Message from MNHQ: We've had to remove the attached letter as it was a bit too identiyfing. We realise the rest of the thread will make little sense now to anyone new to the thread, but we're leaving it up so the OP can continue to discuss with those already on board].

magnum sorry but you are still talking about people not having the correct tax/insurance etc. You don't know that though do you?

OneMagnumisneverenough · 04/06/2016 20:34

Blue - I didn't say that anyone didn't, I was pointing out that people should.

Bluewombler2k · 04/06/2016 20:34

And these people probably know that, and already do

OneMagnumisneverenough · 04/06/2016 20:36

Then that's fine.

DumbDailyMail · 04/06/2016 20:40

Tradespeople shouldn't park outside their homes? Ive heard it all now. Little Englanders throwing their toys out of the pram cos they have nothing more exciting to do

Umm, the problem is tradespeople parking outside of other people's homes. Wink

Hercules12 · 04/06/2016 20:41

Have to say I looked up address and yanbu op.

I just don't like being told I'm an idiot by people who can't even use google before opening their gobs. This could possibly be why people retaliated to Onemagnum

OneMagnumisneverenough · 04/06/2016 20:57

Think what you want, at the end of the day in the real world a normal person would get the note through their door, they may be a bit annoyed, but their reaction would probably be to tell their DH to park on the drive that they actually have instead of annoying the neighbour rather than post the poor person's note (and address) on social media and invite people to exclaim how unreasonable she/he is being.

Many estates do not allow tradespeople to park their vans on the estate, it's not exactly unique. many tradespeople keep lock-up or separate premises to run their businesses from. Many people do not make things properly official or think they don't need to alter their tax code or using a work vehicle for domestic or commuting purposes.

Many people will be contravening the highway code.

They could probably get away with all these things but simply not being a dick and considering other people. The Op and some people on this thread might not give a rats arse what or where other people park. However other people, including the OP's neighbour do. Is it really too much to ask for them to be considerate of someone elses personal environment for a few weeks? I know the same could be said of the neighbour, but she/he hasn't changed anything about the environment, the OP and her DH have so I think the onus is on them to keep the peace.

OneMagnumisneverenough · 04/06/2016 21:01

Ah right, so I make one comment back to those that were leveled at me and not even that strong a comment and that makes me fair game? Ah well, at least I've got the facility to defend myself if I so choose whereas the OPs neighbour has no clue.

Anyway, I think like the OP, I'll be off.

paniniswapx3 · 04/06/2016 21:09

Onemagnum, I completely agree & the more this has gone on, the more it's apparent that the Op simply wanted to take the piss out of her neighbour & assumed everyone would agree with her. Shame on you Op for posting her address & for fucks sake, act in a courteous way or don't start threads.

KinkyAfro · 04/06/2016 21:16

How many times would you like me to tell you I reported the fact the address was published? I folded the address details over so it wouldn't show, forgetting it was in the note. I reported it straightaway, it took MNHQ 2 hours + to remove it. I can start whatever threads I like, but thanks for the telling off

kinky you have done nothing wrong

paniniswapx3 · 04/06/2016 21:20

Absolutely Blue, for an inconsiderate individual.

Chippednailvarnishing · 04/06/2016 21:20

But have you got insurance OP in case your house burns down? 😂

KinkyAfro · 04/06/2016 21:23

Nope because I'm an inconsiderate, discourteous individual

OP posts:
paniniswapx3 · 04/06/2016 21:25

At least you are acknowledging the point Op. Good luck to you & all the best to your neighbour.

KinkyAfro · 04/06/2016 21:26

You're welcome

Would this also be an alternative? You could paint Neighbour Watch over the police and NYPD bits...

Today 14:13 nancy75

If you dp moves the van at 5am every day I wonder if it is also bothering them when he leaves? At that time of the day a van starting up is quite noisy

The fuck?
