To be terrified

I've had a letter come to my home via recorded delivery.

I know it's news I've been semi expecting but still I feel sick with the thought of what it could contain and I really, really do feel like I'm going to throw up from fright.

What sort of news is it? Can we help calm you down?

minatiae · 03/06/2016 19:41

depends what you think it is?

Andrewofgg · 03/06/2016 19:41

Good luck and Flowers in any case. And Wine if it will help.

MagnifiMad · 03/06/2016 19:41

oh you poor thing. Can you have someone with you to open it and get you tea and the like?

Cabrinha · 03/06/2016 19:42

Poor you.
You can't change what's in it by not opening it.
Have you got a friend who can come and hand old?
Or do you want to talk "worst case scenario" on here first for sine support, so you could maybe have some positivity about living with the news or getting through it, before you read it in black and white?

Scaredandshaking · 03/06/2016 19:43

No - it's just going to have to be going to the post office to collect it. I am praying the fact it's arrived promptly is a good sign.

Poor you Sad what sort of news is it? Perhaps someone on here could reassure you a bit if you feel able to share what it is?

Do you have any RL support?

Cabrinha · 03/06/2016 19:44

Ah, you can't get it til tomorrow?
My personal way of dealing with things I don't know for certain yet is to imagine the worst and work out what I can do.

What are you expecting?

IrisPrima · 03/06/2016 19:46

Fucks sake. Either say what it is or don't.

ArgyMargy · 03/06/2016 19:47

YABU to be annoyingly cryptic. Just tell us what it is, or if you don't know what it is, wait until you do before posting this rubbish.

What's the worst that could happen? Really bad news doesn't get delivered by letter, i.e, death of a family member/close friend, being sent to prison, being extradited. How bad can it be?

Tequilamockinbird · 03/06/2016 19:51

YANBU to be terrified of bad news, but YABU to start one of those threads.

RandyMagnum · 03/06/2016 19:51

Fucking hate vauge attention seeking threads like this.

mrssmith79 · 03/06/2016 19:51

It's an anonymous forum, why be so ambiguous? Hmm

FlyingElbows · 03/06/2016 19:51

What exactly is the point of creating this needless drama?

Op we need more info. If we're to give you good advice.

Cabrinha · 03/06/2016 19:53

That's a bit unfair usual
Hands up I'm curious what it is!
But I could lurk for the gossip without bothering to share how I'd deal with it, in case that helps the OP. I'm sure people post to be kind, not just to rubber neck.

ExtraHotLatteToGo · 03/06/2016 19:54

Jesus. Did some of you have an empathy bypass?

Op I hope it's not as bad as you fear. 💐 How early can you collect it tomorrow? It's 8 am here, I'd be there by 7:55

fastdaytears · 03/06/2016 19:55

If it's come by letter then it's fixable. Better than news that comes by phone call or policeman.

Job stuff?

Scaredandshaking · 03/06/2016 20:00

It's job stuff.

As for why I posted, I think just because I don't have anyone I can talk to about it. I live alone, and I've messaged a friend who has been supportive but she's out.
