Completely by accident... DP was in the bathroom getting ready for bed, he'd left his phone in the bedroom with the radio on. A song came on that I really hate by Ellie Goulding so I opened his phone to switch stations, and it opened on a whatsapp chat he was having with my best friend, where he'd sent her photos of the engagement ring he's just bought.

I feel so bad that I know this! And to make matters worse I had to keep the radio on the same bloody song so he wouldn't know I'd seen!

The exact same thing happened to me a few months ago. I accidentally saw a whatsapp message from my friend about rings but he still hasn't asked the question yet! I'm gutted I've ruined it for myself. Maybe he's changed his mind now as it was a while ago

My mum bloody told me my dh was going to propose while we were on holiday! All that week when we got to a beautiful place i could see him looking edgy and felt so bad i knew! So many days went past i thought he'd lost the bottle then suddenly out of the blue he did it. He still doesnt know i knew. Hope he finds a way to surprise you with it! Xx

aw congratulations- love the ring....I once worked in a newsagents when a guy came in and bought a box of chocolates, opened them and asked me to choose one(yum!) - he then proceeded to fill space in box where chocolate had been, with an engagement ring ....he was off to propose to gf that evening...that was 35 yrs ago
