Completely by accident... DP was in the bathroom getting ready for bed, he'd left his phone in the bedroom with the radio on. A song came on that I really hate by Ellie Goulding so I opened his phone to switch stations, and it opened on a whatsapp chat he was having with my best friend, where he'd sent her photos of the engagement ring he's just bought.

I feel so bad that I know this! And to make matters worse I had to keep the radio on the same bloody song so he wouldn't know I'd seen!

I did something similar with my DP that he'd left his phone on the bed and I checked the time and he'd had a message from his mum saying "what about this one? With a picture of a ring underneath.
I felt really bad. To be fair he ended up proposing about 3 days later, I was expecting it to be longer than that but think he wanted to get it out of the way. He was being a right odd bugger for about a week and I thought he wanted to leave me, turns out it was just nerves been engaged just over a year now.
