To wonder how anyone gets their washing dry in this weather?

Boring subject so sorry! But I am genuinely wondering. I did a load about two days ago and I've just had to redo it as it wasn't drying and was starting to smell musty. I have a tumble dryer but it can't be used on everything. The heating is on full blast and it still isn't drying! When it's a nice sunny day I can all my washing including bedding done all in the same day.

I re spin mine after wash. They get spun to death at end of cycle and never thought they could be made drier by going for extra spin but it's magic especially on sheets and towels. Worth a go even if your machine just does same thing twice they are about half the weight.

I bought dds a Lakeland heated airer when they were in a house in a wet winter with no dryer and no radiators to drape anything on (warm air). They found it brilliant, it dried even jeans overnight, and several years on dd1 with a lot of baby washing uses it all the time.

I drape a lot of stuff over the banister rail on the landing, or over hot pipes (a lot!) in our airing cupboard, or on an ordinary airer. I have a tumble dryer but use it only in emergencies now. Stuff seems to dry quickly enough all year round. Have never had a washing line here - garden is very small.

This weather?!

We've had to buy Sun cream and t shirts!

And after months of trying to get 3yo dd to wear tights and long sleeves she is now all confused when I tell her to just wear her shorts and a t-shirt and she says "but mummy, I will get chilly!" And she keeps asking for hot chocolate. Poor mite. It will probably be back to 11 degrees and interminable drizzle (or snow) just as soon as she gets used to wearing a dress without a vest, cardigan and tights...

It's scorching here in Glasgow. I'm worried about the sights I'll see on my way home!

MadameGrin I once visited a friend near the Botanic Gardens in Glasgow on The First Hot Day of the Year.

Oh dear oh dear.

There they were in the morning, pasty white bodies laid out on the grass like so many unbaked morning rolls.

And there they were in the evening. Oh my... The Pink Glow must have lit the city for days.
