To give DP lunch for a 6 year old?

NoCapes · 26/05/2016 12:01

DP text me about 10 minutes ago saying he'd forgot to make his lunch so could I throw something together and bring it to him
His office is only about 15 minutes drive so I said yes

However
DP usually makes himself a hot lunch to heat up in the office microwave, but there isn't time for that, and I don't really have a lot of 'lunch' stuff in except the things I buy specifically for DS(6)'s packed lunch
So he has -
A tuna mayo & cucumber sandwich (cut into triangles obviously)
A 'fun size' apple
A little car shaped pot of nuts & raisins
An individually wrapped stick of cheddar
A minion frube
A penguin
And - here's the kicker - it's all in an Octonauts lunch bag

He'll be the butt of office jokes forever won't he? Grin

My work has a canteen
It is also a supermarket so is full of food if you don't want canteen food.
And the tea and coffee is free

Baby bottles are handy for carry milk in for tea and coffee. You can always spot the parents

The talk of business parks and lack of canteens reminds me of working in a factory once we had a van come round they served fabulous home made soups, chillies and stews and...gypsy tart

Was going to say the only place I have ever worked with a canteen is a supermarket which also had a public cafe and later a McDonalds

CMOTDibbler · 27/05/2016 13:21

When I was based at the factory, we just had vending machines, nothing you could walk to to get lunch. When they moved more people to that facility, it gained a 'bistro' which is pretty good. DH once worked somewhere which not only had a canteen, it had a tea trolley lady and on a Friday they had free cream cakes from the trolley.

His current office 'base' has a canteen and a samosa trolley once a month (for charity). No sandwich shops near it

Baconyum · 27/05/2016 23:03

samosas you say?

We have no canteen but we have a woman in a van that brings food. The salted caramel cookies are insanely good

SistersOfPercy · 28/05/2016 02:33

DH's office has a canteen, AND it's all free AND the cook does extra nice stuff like Stroganoffs and Beef Stews. She cooks everything from scratch and bakes cakes.
he may have put a little weight on since he started
