To think Brooklyn Beckham should be at school

He's 17 - why is he gadding around LA with an actress when he should be in school. Isn't it compulsory for kids in the UK to be in education until they are 18 and is it not a civil offence to take your kids out of school ( to gad around LA) during term time. Shouldn't he be doing AS exams like my 17 year old

I was thinking the same thing....nothing wrong with wondering.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 20/05/2016 13:27

Those were opportunities given to him simply because of who he is and not through his own efforts or merit. He has not seemingly stuck at either. He does strike me as being pretty much aimless in life and I think he has too many "yes" people around him as well.

Which makes him no different than any other celebrity offspring.

No, not all parents of children of celebrities think it wise to publish seemingly every move and thought on social media unlike the Kardashians or even Chloe Madeley. This is very much an extension of Brand Beckham.

What exactly does he do?. He is famous for being famous.

MrsJayy · 20/05/2016 14:11

Lots of children benefit because of their parents wealth and privilege he is no different what about these people on made in chelsea rich kids fannying about on telly or A kardashian walking down a catwalk in a frock or the child whos parents can afford private school set them up for university then fund gap years Brooklyn Beckham is 17 and being a 17 year old maybe faff about for a summer then get his head down and do something

Balletgirlmum · 20/05/2016 14:11

What exactly does any 17 year old do?

Tries things out until they find their thing.

MrsJayy · 20/05/2016 14:14

Exactly 17yr olds should be like that he has the opportunity to try this and that Im not sure what people expect a17yr old boy to be doing

cupidsgame · 20/05/2016 14:44

The difference between him and other 17 year old boys is massive. No way is he typical of boys that age. He does not have the worry of what kind of career might be open to him. He'll more than likely get to do whatever he wants. Money will buy him whatever career he wants. That's why he's free to be gallivanting about America.

HereIAm20 · 20/05/2016 15:20

my nieces in the States have already broken up for Summer!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 20/05/2016 15:23

They live in the US don't they? I think their holidays have already started.

GraysAnalogy · 20/05/2016 15:28

Christ I was his age ten years ago, was working and going to college and had my own place.

He's still in school, he's doing A Levels. We only see a small snapshot of his life, when he's attending events. We don't see him doing his homework, at school, working...

Cocolepew · 20/05/2016 15:32

I wouldn't have wanted a 17 yo bf when I was 19
I was far too mature HmmGrin

squoosh · 20/05/2016 15:34

If this a proper teenage romance well then I'm the Queen of Sheba.

Vaara · 20/05/2016 15:38

EVERY 17 year old is where they are due to parental involvement, indulgence and cold hard parental cash.

No 17 year old is anywhere on their own merit because they are still children.

Castigating him for such is really idiotic.

AppleSetsSail · 20/05/2016 15:46

EVERY 17 year old is where they are due to parental involvement, indulgence and cold hard parental cash.

Most. Not all.

MrsJayy · 20/05/2016 16:23

Not them all some 17yr old are not indulged some parents dont have the cold hard cash to indulge on them

Floisme · 20/05/2016 16:31

My son's the same. 17 and what exactly does he do? When I was his age, I was running the UN. Lazy fucker.

NickiFury · 20/05/2016 16:41

At 17 I was making a ton of money from baby sitting and using it to travel the length and breadth of Germany clubbing. It was a time to be free and not have to worry and I am glad that's how it was.

BennyTheBall · 20/05/2016 21:16

My comment re his gadding was tongue in cheek. My son would def rather be doing whatever the fuck Brooklyn is doing than revising A2 physics/chemistry etc...

I am going to assume Brooklyn is not academic. So why bother slogging away at A levels when he can do something else. He is going to be fabulously wealthy and do something he loves, I would think. I get the impression his parents try and keep their kids a bit grounded.

EachandEveryone · 23/05/2016 16:19

The dont live in America. They were pictured in the sidebar yesterday. David had just picked the little one up ftom school and had taken them for burgers. Brooklyn was reported to be in LA on holiday so his school mustve broke up.

Dear God, what is wrong with me reading this drival! Blush

originalmavis · 23/05/2016 16:58

Nah, next term is next week isn't it?

I wonder if they will pay the fine for taking the kids out if school ..

SavageBeauty73 · 23/05/2016 17:04

My friend was a teacher at his private art college. He's apparently really un academic but charming and a good photographer.

He doesn't need A'levels.

MrsJayy · 23/05/2016 17:11

He has left school then ? No need for Alevels which are optional not every kid can cope with Alevels

Balletgirlmum · 23/05/2016 17:36

Lots of private schools have two week half terms.

howtorebuild · 23/05/2016 17:43

It's sad that he is hiding who he is like his parents.

EquinoxBloom · 23/05/2016 17:45

How is he hiding who he is?!?

And how are his parents?!?

What an odd thing to say

MrsJayy · 23/05/2016 17:50

What is he hiding ?
