To moo at cows when driving?

My children say I shouldn't do it, nor should I say "nee-naw" every time we pass an ambulance/police car or fire engine. I see nothing wrong in it and even do it quietly when they are not in the car with me

I say hello to squirrels when I'm out running.

I do similar things and don't even have children. Go for it. Embrace your inner child.

Tell them the cows will think you're rude if you don't say hello. Kill joys.

I shout and point at trains even when I'm by myself in the car.

You're much better than me, I shout "mint sauce" when we drive past lambs in the fields

I say hello to every cat I meet in my own car language. They understand.

I often say 'roast lamb' when out walking through fields of sheep. I know I am a bad person.

I once mehed at sheep as I was walking by. To my horror, they mehed back and starting moving in my direction. I legged it. I don't even know what I mehed but it certainly wasn't come and trample me to death.

If it's up YABU because they can't hear you.
If it's down YANBU and you should do it as loudly as you can.

YANBU. And like meglet I often talk to pigeons, squirrels etc when cycling to work (usually to tell them to get out of the way). DD and I always say hello to the dragon that lives on a gable end in our street when we walk past, too...and I do the same if I'm alone.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I've just spent five minutes having a conversation with a pony about whether the sheep had gone to the shops to buy jumpers because their fleeces are falling off!!

I call out Moo at cows all the time. How would they know you were being friendly if not?

The conversation goes along the lines of:

Moo you buggers, moooooooo moo
Chews grass and flickers tail
Mooooooooooooooo
Wanders off

Oh phew! I thought it was just me and DP - I have told him that I will leave him when his meh sheep noise stops making me laugh. He also does a rather impressive impression of a turkey, but we don't have many of them in Yorkshire so its rare I get to hear it!! Must remember to wind down car windows on school run today.

I've waved at a cat when I went past it on the bus. Twice. In my defence I do know the cat as it visits my garden every so often for a chat.

Yanbu. My sheep impression must wow any sheep we come across as they never reply

I have also made up verses for chickens, lambs, pigs, goats.

I have little chats with a robin in my back garden when he sits beside as I'm smoking. I ask him how his cousin is 'at the other place' too as my Mother has a similar size/friendly robin in her garden so I've convinced myself they're related

At the start of Coronation street DS1 turns to DS2 and says, 'look at the funny meerkats!'
They are 18 and 16.

We also do the old Eric Morecombe, 'he won't sell many ice creams driving like that' when a police car goes past with its sirens.

We also bark at the dog from the top flat when it goes for its evening constitutional.

We're in Cornwall so see lots of farm animals all the time. When we're in the car together and see an animal, we do the animal's sound. We have to do it, its THE RULES!

I even do it when I'm alone.
